You absolutely can, my fiancée and I sent it from the UK earlier this year.

Think very carefully about whether this is the right path to follow in terms of immigration. This is a marathon, not a sprint. The quickest way isn’t always the best way. Look beyond the K-1 process and think long and hard about how it affects your first few years of married life together in another country, a foreign country for your fiancé. Think about all those months he won’t be able to work, maybe won’t even be able to drive (depending on the state you are moving to). It’s not just the loss of income but the loss of opportunity - if I’d taken 6 months or so out of my career I wouldn’t be at the level I am now. For every month out of the workforce in my job it takes about 3 or 4 months to catch up. It’s also the effect on the mental state too. I would have gone more crazy not being able to work for 6 months or more than I did waiting a few extra months for my visa case to be completed.

It’s also about status. Having permanent resident status from day one is much better than the limbo of “adjustment of status”.

The K-1 gets your feet on American soil quicker. But that’s just the tip of the immigration iceberg ahead of you. This is a decision that affects the rest of your life.
