Seems to be quite a few of us that met playing World of Warcraft. Thought I would start a thread so we all could say hi, tell which server we are on and tell our stories. Feel free if you met in another online game to share that too.

Udella (Night Elf Druid) and I (Wizanerne, a Gnome Warlock) met in game in January 2005. A friend of mine from work played previously in Asherons call with a bunch of folks that she works with. I was playing Horizons at the time and was very fed up with the leveling aspects of the game even though it was a fun as all get out playing a dragon. This was after a long stint in DAoC and various forays into several other on-line games but none of them ever quite captured my attention enough to keep playing. She had never played a MMORPG and decided she had had enough of her friends plaguing her to try it. Well after several weeks we were completely addicted and spent many nights running around azeroth and many bleary eyed mornings trying to explain to coworkers what this was all about.

Well an innocent comment about what book I was reading and an innocuous quote from Shakespeare turned into me meeting my soul mate. Thankfully she felt the same way. I always find it quite amazing that fate put us together at that time to meet each other.

Well that's our story and now here we sit waiting on the system to allow us to start the next phase of this amazing journey.

We started playing crack -- oops I mean WoW-- after we got married. We actually gave the game to Jerry's best friend as a gift for being in our wedding! Jerry started playing it, and then I tentatively tried it myself.......I got my own account for Valentine's Day, 2005, how romantic!! I still play, Jerry plays occasionally.

him: um too many to list, seeing as he gets bored easily and has a ton of characters

(I realize we didnt meet while playing WoW, but we do enjoy the game immensely. )

I have been looking into MMORPG games but they are all so big and confusing to a newbie that I haven't ventured out and tried one yet...

I think it is so cool that you guys met that way...definitely a great story to tell others

My husband was really into playing Everquest... and then his nephew introduced him to WoW... I play too now and so do all fo his friends hehehe.... its like an addiction!

We all play most nights... and im a higher level then Russ heheheh!

We played the ol' Dungeons and Dragons RPG game back in High School...the same addictive elements of building a character and the experience are why WofW and EverQuest are so popular. Once you've invested so much time into it, it's really difficult to pull away. I believe Blizzard is pulling in about 24 million a month from subscribers...and companies are trying find other ways to create equally addictive entertainment.

Started playing on Cenarion Circle after my boyfriend at the time convinced me that World of Warcraft was the best game ever. That relationship then collapsed and subsequently one of the guys in my long-time raid group and I started talking. (Boring Molten Core started it all.) During the beginnings of our subsequent relationship our raid group and I moved to Lethon to start afresh on a new server. And then things got interesting. After a lot of in-game mail and some time, we realised that we were amazingly in love with each other and never wanted to let go.

We met in-game last year and started playing again a few weeks ago (casually - no more raiding or pvp grinding) after leaving WoW just before TBC was released to take time for real life. (More characters and days (years?) /played than I care to admit, even among fellow gamers.) Actually started out as a cross-faction romance, but I ended up transferring one of my characters to a different account so we could spend time together in-game. (RP-PVP realm, so I couldn't have characters on both sides without having a second account.)

Fantasy brought us together and will always play a special role in our relationship. <3

My husband and I actually met on a MUD called Dark and Shattered Lands. I don't play much anymore but he does.

We do play WoW together however on the server Cenarius.

Highest lvl char. I got is a lvl 55 draenei mage named Xalyna. I also got a lower lvl human priest, human warlock, night elf druid and a draenei paladin. I made an orc hunter I think on another server but forget which one... My husband just got into the pvp part of WoW in battlegrounds on Cenarius with his human warlock Orynic. I'm still too chicken yet to try pvp.

LOL this is just too funny... haha...

I started to play WOW when I got here and that's because of Joel. He was scared that it would affect our marriage if he keeps on playing that and I just sit around and watch TV...LOL. So I gave it a shot and yep, certainly it's a fun game. We both play in Zuluhed, not gonna tell ya our character's name tho haha....Joel is a 70 human warrior and I am now a 45 Draenei Paly...... yeah, i have been leveling up too fast...hehe.

But anyways...yea, glad to share something in common with you guys haha.
