I remain as disgusted by him, if not more so, than when I went on the Women's March back in January 2017 down in Los Angeles. We need a leader who respects his people regardless of sex, gender, socioeconomic class, attractiveness, political party, etc. We don't have that right now. Please don't try to convince me that if I just put my pretty little head to it I would see how AWESOME my life is because of Trump. Did I do well from the tax cut? Yeah, I'm in a small stripe of people who have done very well. But I don't just care about how my money is doing. I care about the direction this country is heading and what I might leave my (someday, maybe) children.

Yes, my ex attended a woman's march against Mr. Trump at one point also. @90DayFinancier spoke of NLP earlier, and that is exactly what they did to her. They  injected ridiculously biased disinformation into her head like it was heroin, made more repugnant because my ex was (and is) somewhat susceptible to suggestion and groupthink anyway. It took weeks to get that silliness out of her head. Sounds like they've gas-lighted you as well. Unfortunate.

Your argument is not convincing, by the way. "Was my life better under Mr. Trump's tax cuts? Well yes, but I still hate him."

As there continues to be confusion about Gender, I thought this make help as it covers the views of Berkeley:

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

You don't like or understand his policies, so you must demonize him. And it's easy to latch on to some of his quirks, and his no-nonsense approach to getting the work of the people done. I get it. Change is difficult.

As I said, you seem intelligent. By the end of his second term, you will probably be one of those who finally gets it, and gets on board. Once you see how much better your life is, and how much stronger the country is, you will wonder why you ever doubted.

That describes about half the voting population. Mostly it's the "don't like his policies" part. People do understand them.

I can't speak for @theresaL but I do agree that letting the Democrats sink themselves is a politically wise strategy. Having said that, I believe it is important to continue to resist this sham on principle alone. To play along with this this illicit impeachment is to legitimize it, even if it's politically expedient. The Democrats have abdicated their oaths of office, but the Republicans must not.

"The whole truth" is not the truth at all. As Mr. Trump alluded to, the Democrats have had plenty of time behind closed doors to alter the record. Fortunately the people will see through this blatantly obvious deception.

I agree. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I'm just not looking forward to hearing all the whining when their cognitive dissonance wears off and they realize they did it to themselves.

Thank you, but I have come to these conclusions on my own. I paid very close attention during the election, having been dragged to a ton of dumb fundraisers for Trump. I wasn't a Hillary supporter to begin with, but I switched gears when I paid attention to what she was saying in comparison to what Trump was. I wasn't on board with everything she had to say, but it was closer to what I believed in. I also paid attention to what Trump was saying and I did not approve at all, so he would never have had my vote. No one brainwashed me.

Tax cuts aren't everything. Money isn't everything.

Media Matters?

Really?

Anyway all the guy was doing was asking the question.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

How about the Cato Institute? https://www.cato.org/blog/pragerus-nation-immigrants-video-has-serious-problems

The Weather Channel? https://features.weather.com/course-climate-misinformation/

That Cato piece is by an activist, with an agenda, however I have not watched anything they have produced on Climate Change or Immigration so he may be right or wrong. Most likely he has a point and then has twisted it.

Anyway this piece is a simple interview with multiple students. They just state modern SJW thinking.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

If it is the right thing to do , it is the right thing to do for the country regardless of the cost.

I’m not well versed in American politics but this resonates with me since it has no geopolitical barrier.

I don’t think any political figure is truly honest and the vast majority follow self serving agendas. To label any party figurehead on either side as an infallible saint is taking a shortcut to authoritarianism and exploitation, because voters can be certain that these leaders would not afford them the same loyalty should their position of power be threatened.

So I am convinced that in order to hold politicians accountable, the only option is to call out any questionable action on either side and explore it at all costs without being clouded by partisan loyalties. No need to defend anyone who has done shady things because they sure won’t defend you.

Small stripe??? Poppycock.  Every single working American taxpayer got a cut, period.  Maybe not as MUCH of a cut if they make a lot.

Nixon won in '72 with 520 electoral votes. After his impeachment, the 1976 election, the Republican (Ford) won with 297 votes.

Uh, didn't Jimmy Carter win in '76, or am I misunderstanding something?

I suspect the opposite is going to happen and that by revealing the whole truth to the people the clout of Trump in critical circles will be diminished. This is far closer to the Nixon scenario.

I am fine with letting the Democrats sink themselves with Nancy and Adam.  Doesn't mean we cannot criticize them of the circus they are conducting.

I agree. "Historically" has basically never happened. What we have to go on is Nixon won in '72 with 520 electoral votes. After his impeachment, the 1976 election, the Republican (Ford) won with 297 votes. Clinton won with 379 electoral votes in 1996. In 2000 after his impeachment, the Democrats (Gore) lost with 266 votes. In neither case did the party of the impeached candidate do better in the next election. We have nothing to go on.

I would concede that many people believe Trump is being treated unfairly, however those people are also generally Republican or lean that way. They are not switching their vote.

Ford won with 267?  Having an NB2 moment?

As to people that think Trump is being treated unfairly, I think a lot of those folks might be MOR types as well as independent as it seem to be more than just 24% of the population IMO.
