Also Texas, happened to me but I wasnt even able to get the license. I went to 2 different DMVs just to test the officers if I could get it somewhere else. In each they told me that my NOA from AoS isnt enough. So Im driving on my international one because I cant get anywhere without the car around here. Someone here was able to get one for 1 year in Texas but it really depends on the officers. Apparently there is a way to get the 1 year one but no officers were willing to work with me.

Try a different office: https://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/documents/verifyingLawfulPresence.pdf "Applicants for adjustment of status"

Hopefully it will work for them. I brought this to both of the offices and no luck.

I agree. I had the same issue with my SSN when I waited for my card for 2 months. I had to go to SSA office and tell the SSA officer what to do and once she did it, I had card with me in a week. While she was supposed to know how to fix the problem I had.

It seems there is lack of training.
