Card should be here within three weeks, and we should be done messing with USCIS for the better part of two years!
Don't forget to tell her to stay out of the criminal justice system. Or you'll not only be in touch with USCIS, but also the United States Department of Justice - Executive Office for Immigration Review, or short for immigration court (i.e. removal proceedings)!

And don't forget to tell them if you move! Both of you need to send notice by mail -- within 10 days for her, 30 days for you. (Nothing bad happens if you forget, unless as Sat points out, you have legal problems and they are looking for something). Even minor offenses can be enough to lose a green card, so be careful...

Just a funny little side-story...

She still doesn't have her Social Security card! We've been to the SSA office probably about 12 times, and each time it's something different. Last time, they had her updated in the system, but her name was misspelled by someone at their office. BLAT!!! Oh well, we'll go down there again and make another request, hopefully by this time next year she'll have her Social Security card.

(# was issued a long time ago, and proof is printed out each time we go. She's working now, so it doesn't really matter anymore, but that's one more example of how this agency doesn't talk to that agency.)

I forgot to update:

Green card received on 18 June, only 10 days after the interview!

And.... Social Security card arrived on the same day!

Double-Whammy! We're done!

Good luck to all. Please hold your congrats, applause, thumbs-up, etc., smileys for those that get on here with "Interview complete, Visa ISSUED!!!" posts. Those are the exciting ones. The green card seems almost like an over 25 birthday; there's nothing really special about it anymore. "Got the green card. Cool. OK. So, what's for dinner?"

Just kidding. It's nice to finally be done, although at this point, it's kind of like just running through the motions. Dealing with USCIS is just something that has to be done every-so-often, it's not "exciting and new" like when you submit that K-1/3 packet and anxiously await the interview date and that phone call or e-mail... Ah. Those were the days......

What about citizenship?are you going to apply for it?If yes what it takes?

She has no desire to become a citizen.

As far as what it takes, I'm not 100%, but I believe it takes a minimum of 4 years residency, an application (that costs like $1000+), a written test, and finally another interview.

Or, you can go the fast-track and join the military where they've now lowered the requirement to only two years time in service. (If you go this route, you'll get the added bonus of seeing cool places like Iraq and Afghanistan!)

Yes dual citizenship is fine as long as you have Russian citizenship first followed by US citizenship second. It doesn't work the other way around, because Russia requires you to renounce US citizenship to get theirs. Now that is a separate joke.

Politics are awesome!

I do like the way the Russians do it compared to the way Americans do it. Overtly.

That is how the US does it, first we vote them into office, then they decide they want to raise oil prices, how do we do that we get into a war in an oil producing country and tell the people that we have to spend this money for the region to be secure. Its no wonder that immigration is such a complicated and lengthy mess, we cant even pick a fight the right way.

I seriously doubt you do.

The Russian style includes: Rewriting the constitution several times in a decade. Then having an election, but all the top candidates are either disqualified, "disappear", murdered, or jailed. The political parties have no platform (except we support Putin) and change every election. Then once in control the government buys up all the media enterprises, thus if you say everything I just said in Russia you will also "disappear". And for you soldiers (compulsory service + serious hazing) and being sent to Chechnya is not much better than Iraq.
