A quick question for those who have sent in I-129f package. Does the fiance's signature on letter of intent to marry and on Form G325a have to be in English or is native language signature OK?

Thanks

A signature is a signature. Ever seen a signature you couldn't read?

If it is the person's signature, that's what they are looking for.

Yep, a signature is a signature as pushbrk says. We used her native language/alphabet for all sigs, as that is how she would sign anything else.

That is what my fiance said," I am Russian person,I sign my name in Russian not English". (:

It says in the signuature box "If your native alphabet is in other than Roman letters, write your name in your native alphabet below." So have your fiance sign in their native language

You are mixing two issues. Regardless of how the signature appears, they would write their name in their native "alphabet" in the specific space provided in addition to the signature. If the native alphabet is Roman, they only provide a signature. You don't "have your" relative sign in a specific way. They give THEIR signature.

Some foreign relatives will decide ahead of time that they will henceforth have a new signature for future documents. For instance, my wife's AOS papers, credit cards, EAD, drivers license, checking account etc. all bear or will bear her new Roman letters signature, not Chinese characters. One is also free to change their signature at any time.

Guess I'm confused....don't see how I mixed two issues. I was just saying they sign in their native alphabet if not Roman on the G325A

The two issues are "signature" and "write in native alphabet". One could write their "signature" any way they like, including in their native alphabet. In addition, if their native alphabet is not Roman and regardless of how they wrote their signature, they are to write their name in the native alphabet, not in the same space as their signature but in the specific place allowed for it.

If one's native alphabet is not Roman, they will write their name in two places, not just one. The request for the additional native alphabet "writing of name" is near to but has nothing to do with the signature.
