The filing of N-400 and the time it takes is independent of your I-751 ROC. You cannot file N-400 until have have been married for 3 years, and you cannot be approved until the conditions on your green card have been removed. But the processing on these will run concurrently. Congrats on your ROC approval!

I dont get the concurrently part. The n400 was filed at the 3 yr mark. The 10year gc was received earlier this week (month+) after the submission of the n400 app. The n400 appears to have split up and will take normal processing time of the local office? (It is still at the NBC)

Not sure which thread this question belongs. We filed i751 Nov 2019.then N400 Oct 2020.

Case never transfered but got GC today. How does it work now? Will n400 take standard processing time (18+mo) or?

Which service center did you file at? Did they interview you for ROC? Did they send you a case update that ROC was approved, or you just received GC in the mail as a surprise? Thanks!

I don't recall where it was mailed to. No interview. No notice of approval. Just notice that it was mailed and bamm I get it a few days later. I got multiple notices of receipt. One in dec and another earlier this week. Not sure why the multiple notices of receipt of n400

Hi Everybody!!

I am seriously getting worried my case is lost somewhere.

I filled for my wife to remove conditions on her GC. We filed in November 2019 and her biometrics were in Feb 2020.

In June 2020 our stays changed to "waiting to schedule interview" and we have been waiting since with no update at all. I keep calling USCIS and they keep telling me to wait.

Our service center is MSC which is different from most filers. I am aware we can file N400 right now.

What should I do? Her GC expires in June 2021.

Really appreciate any help! Thanks!

Hi there,

We filed for my I-751 in Nov 2019, and since July 2020 that the finger prints were updated, I have not heard from them.

I think many Nov 2019 filers are still waiting to hear back from them.

I hope that the response  was helpful!

I’m starting to get dismayed. I’m seeing many people who filed in Nov 2019 (same month Indid) get approved, and other than having my biometrics appointment in January 2020, I haven’t seen any movement nor received any update. My 18-month extension ends in June and it still says “My Case Was Received”. Is it normal that the Texas center takes forever and a day, or am I just being an impatient nut?

Hi @Simply Canadian, @rasyidah, @maaaaay, @androidhk89

Our cases have pretty similar timelines... I applied in LIN and then got transferred to NBC..

I contacted the USCIS and ask them about my case and to escalate my case since Oct 2020 and waited for them to call me back with an answer finally in Dec 2020.. when they did call back they told me my case was cancelled for some reason so the case was reopened and now it's forwarded to local office for processing... I was like what???? Why would I do that??? No answers were provided...

Anyway fast forward till today, my status online is still case was reopen and was sent to local field office for decision to be made.. Status through call and email as of Jan 2021, it is in queue for interview, and to wait for the NOA though the mail...
And yess.. I'm still waiting... no NOA... no nothing... my 18-months extension is expiring end of June 2021 as well..

And nope, I have not apply for N400 yet...

I'm not sure what else to do... :(
Sorry, I wish I have a more constructive update.. but this is all I've got..
I do suggest to give them a call to follow up at least get a little idea on what's going on while waiting..

Hi @LynetteMN
I hope you hear back from them soon and receive your card.

I haven't heard from them for many months and my case was not transferred. But fortunately last week, I got an update on the case that said the card is being produced.

I think you will hear from them soon.

@LynetteMNThank you, I hope you hear back from them soon.

I have the USCIS app installed on my phone and I used to check it everyday. 2 days before receiving it through mail, I got the notification that it was approved.
