WAC (CA service center) got an update on 11-18 that they're sending my case to another office. Haven't received the letter yet, so I am not sure what office they send it to. It could be local field office or just another office. We'll see. Also applied for citizenship on 11-22.

Same story here. My case is at WAC / California Service Center. On 11/30 my status updated online saying it was transferred to another jurisdiction. Haven't received any letters or further info yet. Filed N-400 11/9. Field office is San Fran.

I received an update recently that my WAC case at CSC was transferred to NBC. The notice I got in the mail had the following message:

  • "We have completed a preliminary review of the application or petition listed above. As part of standard processing, we transferred your case to the USCIS office listed below that has your jurisdiction over your case. That office will notify you in writing when they make a decision on your case or if they need additional information."

I know others have had their case transferred to NBC, but had notices indicating it was transferred to speed up the process. Anyone else got the same message I did or knows what this means? Note that I have not filed for N400 though I've qualified.

Hi Elle, mine state the same.. no explanation, no instructions... I received the notice that it has been transferred to NBC as well at end of Oct 2020.
I started calling them beginning of Nov 2020 to ask more about our case and they mentioned that someone will call me back in within 48hours..

Finally someone called us back last week, telling us that our case have been forwarded to local office for interview to be arranged and a notice with instruction will be mailed to us for that arrangement.

Two days after the call, my status online got updated stating "We reopened your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, and are reconsidering our earlier decision."

I don't understand.. Our cases was not even close, so what are they reopening?

Anyone going through the same?

I got an update this morning: New Card Is Being Produced!!

Nice! Congrats!

Did you have an interview? Was this after you filed N-400? Did they transfer your case from CSC to NBC and then it was approved?

No, yes, yes 😂

I did not have an interview, just got an update via email. And I did file my N-400 before I got the update. And yes they did transfer my case to NBC to speed up processing times.

I think anytime they touch your file it's good. It means they're working or at least looking at it.

Hi all, I have a question since I see a lot of people here mention that the n-400. I sent my I-751 in Nov/2019 like all of us. So far my case status only shows "fingerprint taken". I've been married for almost 5 years now (this May 2021). For some reason I thought that I needed to wait until I received my second green card, but I was reading here in visajourney that if I've been married for 3 yrs I can apply. So my question is, should I begin that process even though I'm still waiting on the I-751? Can you do that simultaneously? Thanks in advance :)

Yes you can. I did. They jus have to approve your I-751(ROC) before they can approve your N-400. It might help to speed up your ROC.

Case never transfered but got GC today. How does it work now? Will n400 take standard processing time (18+mo) or?
