Guys!! My son's i130 just got APPROVED!!!! Just wanted to share 😍

I am so happy and relieved, almost can't believe it....

So, I'm just praying that it'll be transferred over to NVC asap where mine has been sitting since February 10th and we can ease through it together 🙏

We'll sure be requesting expedite again, so we'll see how that goes 😉

For everyone still waiting in the uncertain: my thought and prayers are with you 🧡

Congratulations!

USCIS is currently moving cases left and right - I don't see that any of the processing times are actually reliable. My understanding is that in favor of timelines, the case load in all centers is being adjusted in an effort to align processing times across centers and make it one "e-processing" center rather than disconnected silos with entirely different processing times. What underlines my theory is, that recent transfers have not seen any notifications go out to the recipients. This leads me to assume that maybe at some point we won't know the center where the case is, because it simply doesn't matter.

Are current case processing times suffering from it? Possibly. We don't know this and we will never find out. Do we need to drive ourselves crazy over this? Well - that's a choice :D

After all we are seeing approvals for random PDs which clearly make it a moot point to look at the processing time of a center. And given the size of USCIS, we will have to allow for some time for the streamlining process to be completed. I'm confident at that point, we will see more accurate and helpful estimated processing times :)

very well said !

Theory out of the window! I said to him today - I just wish we all had some clarity. It’s the unknown that I hate. Impossible to plan leave from work, when I hand in notice etc... and just generally want a reliable estimation date to look forward to.

As per previous comments - I’m wondering how much the ‘new’ estimated wait times at the service centres will change...

You can probably hand in your resignation letter when you get your interview date. That should give you a few weeks to at least a month's time to start preparing to move.

Yeah, been trying to sort all this out as well.  We've two kids in primary, and all live abroad.  Its going to be a big move - we cant plan it on the fly/asap and will need to probably let NVC drag on so we can control the timeline a bit more.  Not sure yet still playing around with best/worst case scenarios and timelines.  Don't really want to move kids in the middle of school year but...

Hi guys i received my noa1 on nov 22. And i  wondering how to expedite it. My SC is at Texas.

How to Make an Expedite Request

Alert: Employment authorization for Liberians under Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) will expire on March 30, 2020, but Liberians covered by DED may be eligible for permanent resident status (a Green Card) under recently enacted legislation known as Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness (LRIF).

Liberians who satisfy the statutory requirements to apply for adjustment of status under the new law and apply for a Green Card are eligible to apply for employment authorization.

USCIS encourages individuals who wish to prevent a gap in employment documentation to submit their completed adjustment of status and employment authorization applications as early as possible.

Upon request, USCIS may expedite the processing of any Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, based on a pending application for adjustment of status under the LRIF for any Liberian with a DED-based employment authorization document (EAD) who files the Form I-765 on or before March 30, 2020, accompanied by a copy (front and back) of their DED-based EAD. To request expedited processing, follow the instructions on the How to Make an Expedite Request webpage. If the Form I-765 is not submitted concurrently with the Form I-485, evidence of the previous Form I-485 filing must be submitted with the Form I-765.

In General

You may ask USCIS to expedite the adjudication of an application or petition for an immigration benefit.

USCIS:

  • Considers all expedite requests on a case-by-case basis.
  • Requires documentation to support a request.
  • Has the sole discretion to decide whether to grant or deny a request.
  • Does not consider expedite requests for applications or petitions that have Premium Processing Service available.

USCIS may consider an expedite request if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • Severe financial loss to a company or person, provided that the need for urgent action is not the result of the petitioner’s or applicant’s failure to:
    1. File the benefit request or the expedite request in a reasonable time frame, or
    2. Respond to any requests for additional evidence in a reasonably timely manner;
  • Urgent humanitarian reasons;
  • Compelling U.S. government interests (such as urgent cases for the Department of Defense or DHS, or other public safety or national security interests); or
  • Clear USCIS error.

When considering severe financial loss to a person: If the expedite request relates to an application for employment authorization or student status, the need to obtain employment authorization or student status, standing alone without any evidence of other compelling factors does not warrant expedited treatment.

All expedite requests claiming severe financial loss, regardless of the immigration benefit sought and regardless of whether the claimed loss is to a company or a person, must be documented to establish the loss and that the requestor is not able to withstand the temporary financial loss that is the natural result of normal processing times

For more information, see USCIS Policy Manual, Volume 1, Part A, Public Services, Chapter 5, Requests to Expedite Applications or Petitions [1 USCIS-PM A.5].

You can generally request expedited processing by contacting the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283 (TTY for the deaf, hard of hearing, or those having a speech disability: 1-800-767-1833) after you have obtained a receipt notice. The USCIS Contact Center will not be able to refer the expedite request to the appropriate office without a receipt number. When you call to request expedited processing, the USCIS Contact Center creates and forwards a service request to the office with jurisdiction over your application or petition.

After receiving the service request, the reviewing office may request additional documentation to support expedited processing. A decision on an expedite request is not an approval or a denial of the underlying benefit request. The expedite decision simply informs the requestor  whether USCIS will take the benefit request out of date order and issue a decision (approval or denial) faster than the normal processing time.

In accordance with the criteria above, note specific handling procedures in the following circumstances:

Appeals

Requests for expedited processing of appeals may be included with the appeal. Expedite requests included with the appeal will be reviewed by the office that issued the decision.

For appeals filed with the AAO, any expedite request made after the appeal submission should be mailed or faxed directly to AAO. See AAO’s Processing Requests and Contacting the AAO pages for more information.

Regardless of whether the expedite request is submitted with the appeal or afterward, the expedite request should include:

  • A cover letter clearly marked “EXPEDITE REQUEST”; and
  • Documentary evidence supporting the request for expedited processing of the appeal.

Requests for expedited processing of appeals filed with the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) should follow the BIA expeditious handling procedures.

Applications for Asylum

Requests for expedited processing on asylum applications should be directed to the office with jurisdiction over the asylum application. See the Affirmative Asylum Interview Scheduling page for more information.

Benefit Requests Pending Outside the United States

Send requests for expedited processing of applications for refugee status to the Resettlement Support Center handling the case abroad. For more information, see the USCIS Questions and Answers: Refugees page.

Send requests for expedited processing of humanitarian parole for beneficiaries located outside of the United States to the Humanitarian Affairs Branch. For more information, see the Humanitarian or Significant Public Benefit Parole for Individuals Outside the United States page.

For all other immigration benefit requests pending with USCIS offices located outside the United States, you may request expedited processing by submitting a written request, along with any supporting documentation, directly to the USCIS office with the benefit request.

For contact information for USCIS offices located outside the United States, see the USCIS International Immigration Officespage. Requests for expedited processing on matters pending with Department of State (DOS) should follow DOS expeditious handling procedures.

Our petition just got approved. The approval notice has been uploaded to the online portal already.

WHOOOOOHOOOO! I haven't realized what just happened hahaha

Congratulation!!! Such a great news after so many weeks of Corona Coronoa!!

I was looking at F2A timelines on VJ using CSC filter. Seems there has been only a few NOA2 approvals whose NOA1 approval is from April 2019. An your is from November. That means many people are not reporting their NOA2 approvals on VJ or is yours an exception? Anything special you might have done ? :)

Our I-130 for F2A (spouse overseas) is filed in Nov end 2019. I hope we get NOA2 approved soon too. Your news has given so much hopes !!

Wish you all the very best!

The link is here: https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-information/how-make-expedite-request and explains qualifying factors and process. I have seen many requests not being approved for people here on VJ. You must have a really legit reason and proof.

Search for F2A -  2019 fillers (yes, with that typo :)) on facebook :)
