Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before - I wanted to post it before I go out.

I have tried to email the embassy as it states on Visajourney embassy info page " E-mail is definitely the best way to contact London if necessary. "

My emails are returned with the message "Your e-mail was deleted without being read. "

Is this normal?

Thanks

JD

It's normal. If you have a legit question, put your case number in the subject line & send again. They will reply to it in a few days.

Depending on what you are calling about - you can also call (for much less money) the State Department visa information line at 1-202-663-1225 (this is a US number - for a Washington DC office). Press "1" then "0" then wait on hold. Have the LND case number, beneficiaries name. They have access to the same computer system and can tell you the status as it is updated in the computers (ie: "we sent packet 3 on x date," etc etc).

If you have something more specific, you can try the email route as well (you can try it either way). Some have received the "this email has been deleted" automated response but STILL received an actual response later. Some get the auto response and never hear back. Supposedly there is a "code" that you put in the subject line to get through their filters that you can only get from the expensive UK info line - but we've heard conflicting reports on all of that.

You can try emailing londonconsular@state.gov and see what happens.

p.s. we received our packet 3s and mailed them back on exactly the same days. we haven't seen packet 4 yet, nor have i had confirmation from the embassy that they've received packet 3 back. we sent it with delivery confirmation, so we know, as much as we can "know," that the post delivered it already. the State Dept operators (and common sense) say it can take a few days to get the packet into the system as having been received. if you just want to check on whether packet 3 is in their system and find out about the interview date, i suggest the phone number. they are always friendly and say "just try calling us back, we'll be able to let you know when they enter it into the computer system."

Thanks for all your info - putting the LND number in the subject line didn't help at all ;-/

I suppose I'll just have to wait and hope that the package has reached them!

Cheers :luv:

If you still haven't received a reply to your email, why not call the DoS as Daisy recommends above? They'll be able to tell you whether P3 is in the system at London yet.
