How fast will I get my workpermission after mailed AOS.

Will I get this before the interview?

I assume you applied for an EAD when you applied for AOS? If so then they are usually approved around 90 days after receipt. If you didn't apply for EAD, you'll have to wait for your Green Card to be approved before you can work.

What does EAD stands for?

EAD is Employment Authorization Document which is what you get when your I-765 is approved. I-765 is generally filed with your AOS (Adjustment of Status I-485) petition. Do you know if your lawyer filed this for you?

So an EAD is approved about 70-100 days after they have recieved your package (or your NOA{Notice of Action}1). The AOS may be approved with or without an interview in 2 months-2 years.

They're not all that bad... You just have to show that you're a married couple. Not so hard for most married people. They do say that more then likely if you didn't have an interview at your AOS when you lift conditions you will have one.

Yea I guess it won't be a problem.

But I keep thinking of my interview for a K-1 visa where I was denied and had to go through London and approved 8 month later

The idea is that since the green card can take months (or years) to be approved, the EAD will allow you to work before you receive your green card.

If you receive your green card quickly - before the EAD is approved, then you wasted the $180 you spent on applying for the EAD.

To us it was worth the risk.
