Hi!

so I got a ssn before I applied for AOS - I got my combo ead card March 11 - wasn’t exepecting a new ssn since I already had one. But I got one in the mail yesterday- without my middle name on it and with a new number??? Is that normal?

The same thing happened to us.  I contacted the SSA, both the regional office and the local one, and they both told me that once a SSN is issued, it can’t be canceled or deleted.  They said to choose one, and use only that one.  We use the SSN that was issued first because it has all of her background information recorded in that record. The second one they issued only has her first and last name, no other information.

Ya I called and they told me the same. But to mail the second one back to them with a letter stating I intend to use the first one only. Which I did

150 days and still no news...

Soooo frustrating. I’m a January filer and my level of frustration is high. I can only imagine how you’re feeling. I wish there was more transparency to the process. Like, how are some Feb filers ‘ready to schedule interview’ and Nov-Jan filers aren’t? Makes no sense to me, and seems highly unfair. I’m so sorry to learn that you’re still waiting. You can submit a request to USCIS to find out what’s going on.

For your I-765 it’s processed by your local USCIS office so that’s why there’s such a discrepancy in timelines. Some people who filed in November might ready have their green cards. I’m in SF so It could take well over a year for me to even get my interview. It’s nuts. However for EAD and AP for people that came over on the K1 they’re all processed in the Missouri office so it’s easier to predict when they’ll come through. I just wish mine would come through this month like other November filers!

Everything till 'ready to be scheduled for interview' is processed at the NBC. Only after that the case gets forwarded to the local office.

San Diego filer here, I received my AP in the mail today! Noticed I got approved on the 16th. Still waiting for my EAD, 147 days and counting my case still says “Case Was Received”

I thought that they’re meant to come together on one card? Someone, correct me if I’m wrong!

Ok so I just got off the phone with uscis...

they have received my medical exam results which I had to resubmit (was informed in my green card interview they lost them) and then he said it can take several months of a decision after the interview 🤦🏻‍♀️

only panicked because of Trumps executive order coming this week that might halt all issuing of green cards :((
