Hello everyone,

Does the same requirements applies to K2 applicants? Will they need to sign and fill other I-forms? Or just me k1? How does it go? Thanks in advance for the help.

all 3 forms have to be completed for the K2-s. if you have 3 children, you will have 4x the work to do. if the kids are too young the parents can sign on their behalf the forms.

Hi, I'm a little confused. So we can  file for SSN after marriage before filing for AOS?? What about for k2 applicants? Do they need SSN? Thanks in advance

I filed for SSN after marriage, but before AOS. They couldn’t put it in my married name, which was fine for me. They didn’t give me much grief about it, but they did have trouble finding me in the computer so they did it manually after I left the office and I got my card in the mail about 10 days later :) I don’t care that it’s in my maiden name we just needed it for insurance purposes. I know most people do it before the wedding, but our office in Corinth, MS let me do it after. I know how bad they can be about saying different things in different offices🙄

Thanks for letting me know. I'll check with the nearest SSN office in our place.

Mailed the AOS and EAD paperwork on 11/20/19, they received it 11/22/19 in Chicago, and we just received both I-797 receipts today, 11/30/19. Waaaaay faster than we expected!

Hopefully  it will continue to be faster than what you expect.

We just received the date for our rescheduled interview.....   What did you bring for the beneficiary regarding arrest records? She was never arrested in Brazil, which should have been covered during our K1 interview. What does she need to bring to the AOS interview to prove that she hasn't been arrested since arriving in the USA?

Did they ask  for  something  specifically regarding arrest records? Didn't they send you a list of items to bring? Checking the box on the form I-485 stating that she has never been arrested  is all that is required if  they did  not ask for other documents regarding arrest records. Ahhh you are a June 2019 filer!

I’m a little worried (shocker). I’m seeing a lot of people in this thread who’s AOS was received after ours that have already gotten their NOA. While I’m happy for them, it makes me worried about our case. I figured USCIS would process applications in the order they were received. I checked this morning and they still haven’t cashed our check. Ours was received 11/18. Could that mean that we’ll be getting an RFE? This is probably not out of the ordinary, I just need a little reassurance😔

You missed your calling.  You should have been a stand-up comedian.

I believe I have read more than once, maybe on their website, that they do this (we process applications in the order in which they are received) but in practice it seems like there are different factors that can affect the turnaround time so it varies for each application.

Just hang tight.  You may get a RFIE/RFE but the fact that your check hasn't been cashed yet doesn't mean you will get one.  It may just be one of those intangibles that is impacting your timeline.

Trust me.  I understand completely how you feel.  We all go through it.

I sent my package through usps on the 15th. Arrived Chicago on the 17th and since the 21st it is been on transit. Tried calling a customer rep and they say it has been delivered it and I should try tracking the usps money order to see if it's been cashed. Please how do I know if a money order has been cashed. Thanks

What has been in transit? Since you said it was already delivered to Chicago on the 17th. Tracking the money order depends on who you got it with. If you got it through Western Union you’re supposed to be able to call them and give them the numbers on the bottom of the money order to see if it has been cashed. This is only what I’ve heard, I haven’t tried it myself since we paid with personal check. Hope that works!
