So I called my local SS office. The person on the phone said that I should use the most recent one (even though I filed taxes, applied for my job and health insurance with the old number). She also told me it’s showing up as cross referenced on the system. She said it shouldn’t be an issue to use the most recent one seeing as they’re cross referenced. So I don’t know what to do! She didn’t say I had to send either of them back either. Looks like we’re all getting different guidance!

You heard of the stories where people have been told that they wouldn't be eligible for a SSN or only a SSN where they're not allowed to work? Do you really trust them? Go there when they open again and return the second one. You already used the first one for everything so stick with it.

Any green card interview for you guys recently? My wife received her SSN and work permit, pre-covid. However, We're still waiting for a notice in the mail for green card interview.

You’re right. The person on the phone didn’t seem to know what she was talking about, so I wasn’t too convinced by her reasoning. Our lawyer also said we should ask to speak to a supervisor, that I can’t keep both and they need to decide what one I use. It makes sense for me to use the first one.

This whole process is just battle after battle!

No not yet. But USCIS plans on reopening June 4th with precautions so I am  sure we will soon start to see some interviews being scheduled by next month. Lets hope lol

My wife's social security card just arrived, 26 days after the arrival of her EAD/AP combo card.

Still waiting on the rescheduled interview for her I-485 green card application.

Oh, and the SS card mailing did not appear in my "Informed Delivery" daily email from the postal service.

Got my first update since biometrics all the way back in December. Unfortunately it was a RFIE for my I-485. Pretty sure it’s cause I only filled the most recent year’s tax return instead of 3 years. I mean, I hope it is that cause then it’s an easy fix.

If I'm not mistaken only the current year is required, the other two years is optional, but most people do submit three years of returns.

4 years, 11 months, 2 weeks and 3 days

Citizenship Complete!

USCIS is like a box of chocolates, you never know what kind of answer you are going to get!!!!

Hello!

Is there anyone who got their I485 expedited?

My husband is being relocated to South Korea in October and I wanted to join him but I've still been waiting on Greencard and I'm not sure when I'm going to get my interview. We are thinking about expediting so we could finish all other paperwork before leaving

I do not think you can expedite green card interview.  My husband was about to be relocated as well and I looked into it. It seems the only one way is abandon your case (since you will not show up) and re-apply for wife visa. Basically to start all over.  But i would inform UCSIS about re-location of course.

Another option would be to wait it out here, do the interview alone and follow him as soon as you have the greencard. USCIS allows one to do the interview alone if the USC spouse is deployed so I would think that also works if the spouse has already left for a PCS abroad.
