One of the things I have done (and my friends).. Is bring somebody from the "Outside".. A friend that doesnt have any attachment to your belongs.. and MIGHT be able to bring some sense in your head to just THROW IT OUT!!...

I constantly have a bag going of clothes I/ kids just DONT wear anymore.. and when the bag is Full i drop it off to a charity site.. and start another. But then again I ask myself.."Will you ever FIT into that size 6 again??!!".. *ahem* YES!!!!!!!

I also have started a bag for when I go back to Egypt.. decent things that can be given to an orphanage / widow..

I have started to buy contaners for everything... I have realized that Organized clutter look alot more better.. AND see what fits into that container.. once you have reached your limit.. see what else can be thrown/ given away

I have come from Generations of Pack rats.. lol.. It can be hard.. BUT once you get it in your head... If you really havent touched it for a year... YOU DONT NEED IT!

Ok I'm starting tomorrow with that website.

The hardest part for me is lugging everything up and downstairs. I have a TON of old clothes that are just moldy and ruined down cellar from a flood we had a year ago and they're gonna be a bear to bag and bring upstairs to put outdoors. That's why they've been sitting down there for so long. My back is gonna take a beatin' when I do this. :crying:

Any teens around in your street who would do some lifting for a 20$?

There's teens around but they dont' do jack 'cause their parents give them everything. Times have changed. You no longer see the kids shoveling out the neighbor's driveways, etc. 'cause they simply don't need to work for what they get. (ok i feel like an old geezer saying that but it's true!!!)

So I guess I"ll start Sunday since I"ll be busy tomorrow. lol. See I'm already procrastinating!!!!

I wouldn't let any kid of mine haul moldy clothes around without proper protection; mold can be toxic.

Wow how times have changed …

As a teen / college student I loved to work for $$$ under the table. I usually got fed too … pizza, grinders (hoagies … subs) and was happy. Even today, years later, with friends and family there is still the old expression “will work for food”. Many of my close friends and family still have this credo.

And of course all safety precautions are followed …

But today … the sad truth is … things have changed … with the laziness, entitlement requirements, lack of responsibilities, and litigious nature of todays society … well you get the picture.

Doing good deeds … I still love doing them.

When I was a teenager, I HAD to work. I wasn't allowed to slack off. My parents even made me go door to door to see if anyone needed a babysitter even though I didn't really like babysitting other peoples' brats. When I turned 16, it was time for me to do a stint in the food service industry. That really motivated me to make good grades.

I was always told if I wanted something I had to work for it. I remember when I was about 8 years old I wicked wanted the soundtrack album to The Sound of Music (yayaya it was an album and it was the sound of music lol). I had to trim all the hedges in the backyard, AND bag them AND bring them round to the front of the house to be picked up by the trash guy. That took me about 5 hours to do and that album was all of about $3!!!!:blink::blink:

Hehehe, sounds like my parents! When I was 11, I wanted contact lenses. My mother told me if I saved $50 to put towards the cost, then I could have them. I managed to save the $50 over a period of six months by saving my $1 a week allowance, putting away some birthday money, and doing chores and odd jobs in the neighborhood. My mom admitted to me years later that she never thought I'd actually save $50.   I REALLY wanted contacts!

um, back to topic. Get rid of all of your extra items, through a yard sale or charity donations.

Items that you consider valuable, hold onto them.

If you must move the valuable items alone, well, that is the cost of doing business. AKA, the cost of your needs.
