Hi! Our CR-1 application got documentary qualified on Sept. 24th. We are wondering how long does it usually take until we get our interview email or date in Egypt?

If anyone went through this recently can you please tell me how long you waited for the interview after you got DQ?

Thanks.

I have mine since August 8 At the nvc I'm still waiting in Egypt Cairo for interview so how long it takes for getting interview?

HI Syed

Thank you very much for your reply. I greatly appreciate it.

I will definitely be finding a co-sponsor. My question is whether I need to do that before NVC will send my case to the embassy or whether my husband will be scheduled for an interview now even before I upload the co-sponsor documents to NVC.

Thank you again

I think it's best to find the co-sponsor now and if you're able to submit the docs to NVC before the interview date, then even better for you. I think NVC will try to schedule the appointment for you in the mean time. I feel it's best if you get the co-sponsor and submit it to NVC whilst you prepare for the interview appointment.

Like for long 5-6 months?

DQ depends on RFE’s...

generally speaking your document are reviewed 4-6 weeks after submitting them.. if everything was done right then you’ll get dq.. if not you’ll get an RFE that will take another 4-6 weeks to get looked at.. and so on until completed to their satisfaction

AOS Journey

  • I-485 etc filed 23 April 2020
  • NOA1 I-485 June 3 2020
  • NOA1 EAD 23 April 2020
  • Biometrics 5 Jan 2021
  • EAD approved 12 March 2021
  • Interview Completed 24 March 2021
  • EAD Card Received 1 April 2021
  • Case under review 2 April 2021
  • New Card is Being Produced 25 September 2021
  • 10 Year Green Card Approved and Mailed 27 September 2021 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

No they vary... perhaps go review timeline, for Cairo that would give you a better indication

So good news and bad!

Good news: My case (which was sent to NVC on October 23rd) was issued it's case number last night!

Bad news: They completely ignored where I asked for my interview to be held(London, home country and all that) and instead put me down for Tokyo which was where I was living at the time of sending. Sssssooooo now we gotta try and deal with that. But baby steps!

Hi no worries! I had to change my embassy and you just have to email them requesting the change with an I’d showing you’re from there and it supposedly doesn’t delay anything they’ll just create a new case number for you

Thanks for letting me know! Was there any issue with how long it took for them to read the email and stuff? Cause once payment has cleared, we have all documents ready to upload and submit so I'm just worried between the holidays, we get to DQ before they look at the emails (Which is why we were planning on calling them).

Hi, folks! 👍🏻
One month today waiting for second review.

Funny because we sent the same AOS docs for me and our daughter and she got DQ on 10/24 and I had to upload my wife’s proof of domicile again...

So, let’s wait! 🙏🏻

First sub: 09/20 for me and our daughter

First review: 10/22 for me - 10/24 for our daughter

Same AOS docs = DQ for her / Rejected for me ???

Second sub: 10/25 - my wife’s proof of domicile

Waiting since then...

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

They didn’t really give me a timeline but someone else who did it said they were DQ when they finally responded about embassy and they didn’t have to resubmit or anything they’re just waiting for interview it took them like a month. I asked the same question recently but I feel like DQs aren’t consistent (some have been notified in a day others are waiting 6 weeks) but yeah I would call if you get DQ before!
