Hello VJ  family! I have a question when scanning documents that will  be acceptable for uploading to the NVC. I am aware that all borders have to be shown on the documents in order for them to be acceptable but my question is...what happens when the document is white and the background of the scanner is white? There is no defined border that is visible on the document, however, it is clear that no parts of the document are cut off. Is this acceptable? Do you have to see an actual line that borders the whole document? I'm sorry, I overthink too many things but I want to avoid any mistakes that will make this process take any longer than necessary!

I can't help you with that question, but thank you for asking because I'm having issues scanning since the document/paper size from Brazil is bigger than USA size. Now my scanner won't scan the whole document since it doesn't fit, it cuts off the very bottom half.

Hello!!! I saw a person at VJ who will do the interview in Brazil saying he received a letter from the NVC with the appointment. And I contacted the doctor's office to ask questions and was also informed that I should send a copy of the letter from the NVC with the appointment of the interview to the doctor. So I believe that in Brazil the scheduling is through letter.

Otimo!!!! Thanks for the info. I had read that we log in to the AIS visa website and choose a date so that confused me. Im gonna call the Dr in Rio since were from SC. I think we'd have to go roughly a week before the interview so the result can make it to the interview on time.

Obrigado!

I have already read this information on the Rio consulate website:

IMPORTANTE! Procedimento obrigatório antes da entrevista:

  1. Todos os solicitantes de visto de imigrante terão que se registrar no link: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/. Este registro é obrigatório para que sua entrevista no consulado seja confirmada, tanto para os que já tem uma entrevista agendada para o consulado quanto para os que ainda precisam agendar;
  2. Após o registro devidamente concluído, os solicitantes de visto terão que selecionar a opção de entrega do visto (busca no CASV- Centro de Atendimento ao Solicitante de Visto ou por correio);

So I believe we get the letter and then confirm it on this site. Please if you have more information, let me know.

I'm going crazy! I sleep thinking about it and wake up thinking about it, I can't wait to send these documents right away and act if necessary. I'm studying a lot because I'm doing everything on my own. It's not easy, but we'll make it!!! Good Luck

Hi everyone, just to be sure, the form i-864a for spouse of joint sponsor should be uploaded under additional documents of joint sponsor right?

And would you advise to upload pictures and whatsapp chat at NVC stage?

Household member and a joint sponsor are different from each other. A household member cant be a joint sponsor. I-864a is not for joint sponsor. I-864a is a form for an agreement between sponsor and sponsor's household member.

I made a mistake with my application. I added my sponsor's father as a joint sponsor while they have the same residency address. it was rejected. I had to add him as a household member of my sponsor.

I am preparing my documents right now and what I'm going to do that i will take clear pictures on a dark background with my phone then will combine them on one file. Because i had this borders issue in my scanning as well.

Oh ok, that's a good idea. I just wanted to make sure this was an acceptable way of copying the document. I guess as long as it is legible, it shouldn't matter because all they need is a copy and then we bring the originals to the interview. Thank you for your help!

Oh wow seriously?

They wont accept document that have simply been scanned downloaded and saved to PDF? What about the downloaded transcript from irs? Your printing and rescanning on dark background those too?

Waiting since 10/25 for second review.

Funny because we sent the same AOS docs for me and our daughter and she got DQ on 10/24 and I had to upload it again... So, let’s wait! Congrats to you!!! 👏🏻
