It means NVC is telling you currently your spouse doesn’t make enough to sponsor you, and that unless you get a joint sponsor, the CO at the interview is likely to deny you on basis of likelihood to become a public charge, so NVC is recommending that you get a qualifying joint sponsor to sponsor you and submit the required paperwork and documents from the joint sponsor on CEAC ahead of time as well as taking required joint sponsor paperwork and documents to your interview to ensure you don’t get denied on public charge basis. The minimum amount a sponsor must make in order to qualify for a household of 2 is around $21k+ a year and goes up by around $5k for each additional household member

The thing is that my spouse makes more than twice the amount of the minimum requirement per year, so I really do not know how this happened...

They have no other dependents, just you two? Really weird, sometimes NVC does mess up though. I would try to contact them to clarify and find out if it was a mistake or not

I would, that way you can find out if it was a mistake and if it is, so that they can fix it ASAP

Good evening from Sweden fellow VJ members!

Today, I was documentarily qualified, and the status for both IV and AOS reads "Accepted," but I still got this message which is kind of concerning:

"[My partner's name] does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants for this case. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 for a joint sponsor may be submitted. FINANCIAL SPONSORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial sponsors, joint sponsors, and applicants should be aware of responsibilities when signing an I-864 and the consequences for a sponsored immigrant's acceptance of federal means-tested public benefits. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos."

Did anyone else experience this?

Was your partner living abroad with you and recently moved back to the us? I’ve been noticing that if the sponsor was working abroad, making foreign income, then NVC suggests getting a joint sponsor.

I have a question in regards to what NVC considers "multiple files".

I'm using assets to qualify and have several bank accounts and a 2nd vehicle I am using. Can the "evidence" of these all be combined into one file?

Or do I have a "cover letter" listing the evidence of ownership of the assets and state they are attached? Then just upload each piece of evidence separately and name them appropriately?

It ends up being quite a bit of added documentation, so just want to know the best way to organize and go about it.

Hi all! Just checking in to say that we submitted all docs between Friday and Saturday (this past weekend) and received a DQ email today! Assuming that NVC gets Veteran's Day off, that makes it 1 business day processing time. For reference, I submitted an i-864EZ instead of the full i-864, so not sure if that helped.

Not quite sure how they decide in what order they process applications, but counting our blessings. Good luck to everyone, and congrats to those who are also moving on. ❤️

that's so fast! congrats! i thought there was a 4-6 week wait on processing of docs sent to NVC.  i submitted mid October, so hoping it's in the next few weeks
