We got Issued status today! Three days after being approved at interview.  Embassy was closed for Thanksgiving yesterday so I didn't expect to get Issued status this fast. I can't believe we get to spend the holidays together and welcome the new decade. This has been such a long, exhausting journey. So incredibly thankful for the wealth of information and community in this website. It'll be your turn soon enough, it's almost over and you'll get to be with your loved ones 😊😊😊😊

So happy for you!! Your journey is almost over!!

The police clearance certificate issued in Lagos says valid for 3 months. Does this mean I need to renew it before the interview if the interview is more than 3 months from the date it’s issued?

Also, is the POE and Greencard fee the same? For some reason I thought the POE fee was $165 and the Greencard fee was $220....

You are being required to bring along with you original copy of any civil documents uploaded to ceac...

But the NVC site says a certified copy is okay. It also says that here on VJ. Our certified copy has the raised seal, the AMAC stamp, and a stamp from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Guess we will email the embassy to be safe.

TT my husband about this tonight...if the interview happens after certificate expires...we will just get another one...some will say its ok to take expired but we are not taking any chances...the $165 should have been paid at NVC stage at least thats when we paid..we plan to pay the $220 at the interview...a friend whose husband interviewed a few months ago said he paid this at the embassy...and yes $220 is the GC fee.

We were thinking the same thing about the certificate. But the $165 is for POE right? So that means it doesn’t have to be done until we’re approved right? Since there’s no real guarantee that we’ll be approved the first time?

There is no POE entry fee...just the $220 needs to be paid before US entry...

Also...I misspoke....total fees paid at NVC was $445...$120 for AOS and $325 for DS261...no $165 was paid nor do I see request for this fee.

We already have case complete at NVC, so those fees are not a concern now. I found a letter of request for the $165 here on VJ. I’m just curious if this is the same or different from the $220 fee that I have also seen talked about.

The GC fee for CR1/IR1 is now $220 ....this may have been the old price...I have reviewed all govt costs associated with the CR1 and $165 is not listed

Okay! I just wanted to make sure they weren’t 2 separate fees 🙂

I have a question in reference to expediting at the NVC stage.  My husband's paper was DQ'd on the 19th of November and the US Embassy approved expedited processing on the 29th of November.  My question is for those that are knowledgeable of this process and I was wondering, how long does it take from the time of expedite request approval and the US Embassy to receive the documents?  I do understand that this may not be an exact timeframe.  I have read the wiki page and some thing that I am not clear on is, what are the steps to getting in contact with the Embassy to begin their processing?
