My parents paid 10k each and had to come back and collect after a week. This was at NPF zone 5 in Benin City. Since you're in Abia - Umuahia, you can go to Zone 9 office and fill out the forms. My guess would be that it will take about the same time because they will have to send it to Lagos for processing.

If you go to Alagbon, you maybe able to get same day service.

Well the police certificate should be in her maiden name but i guess they pulled from her married name can you get a new one for the interview?
If not just go with what you have.

You have no time line. I did add you to spreadsheet what is your interview date and date you got interview so I can put those numbers in.

Thanks.  The interview went well and they kept her passport and now we are in AP until we provide the new police cert.  What a pain.  I have no problem with getting a new police cert but they approved it in September and only told us of an issue less than 24 hours before the interview.  At the interview they told my wife we were notified at least twice about the invalid police cert which is simply not true.

Incredibly frustrating to be told flat out lies, despite having multiple pieces of evidence that no such notification was ever sent to me, my wife or our lawyer.

Interview was Nov 5 and we were DQ (but not really, considering they invalidated a DQ'd document....) on Sept 18, and interview was scheduled on Oct 14.

Hopeful that once we get the new police cert, which should take a week or less, we're approved within a few days.  I mean they wouldn't have kept her passport if they didn't want to approve us, right??  Had to push back our flights to the USA because of this but fortunately Delta waived all change fees, which was very nice of them and saved me $800.  So it's the little things.

Hi everyone! Received DQ today November 7 2nd resubmission September 30. How long from DQ to CC email?

Congrats! Isn't DQ the same thing as CC? I got an email saying "You've been Documentary Qualified" pretty much instantly after an email about changes in our case being made.

There is no CC email. You get Documentarily Qualified email, that means your case with NVC is complete, and you are moved to the last stage, interview. Now you have to do another waiting, for IL (interview letter).

I think you can if you pay extra for "expedited" service at the Alagbon office. Where are you located in Nigeria?

You dont have to pay any extra, youll get it that same day within 1hr......

This definitely varies.  I have not seen a consistent number but what I have calculated is roughly 45-48 days from the date that you submitted your documents before your package is up for review.  If this makes sense at all to you.  What I do is go to the NVC website and look under Step 6 every week.  As of this past Monday they were working on packages that were submitted on Sept 19th.  So I may not hear anything from them at a minimum of 2 weeks.

Thank you johnson, one more question . If i feel like my lawyer had not anticipated and wasn't helpful in our process, lot of voicemail. Never answer call after i wrote the check $ . Can i do the ds-230 form by my self or do i still need to get with them after approval

Hi guys, had my interview for IR2 this Monday and the Visa was approved. I have shared my Visa experience in https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/723746-ir2-visa-interview-experience-mumbai/ as I thought it would be helpful for other IR2 applicants since I had only very little idea on what I can expect during the interview because of lack of "Interview experience" sharing by the previous IR2 applicants. Hope other people too put up their interview questions in the future.

Thanks a lot VJ community and Mumbai WhatsApp group. Cheers :)

I can not give you advice about what you should do about your lawyer but what I can tell you is that I have been completing this process in its entirety by myself.  I did a consult with a lawyer in February of this year and then decided that I would rather spend the money I would pay a lawyer to file for me on traveling back and forth to see my husband.  I do not regret my decision to be my own advocate.  If you decide to remove your lawyer from your process I am not sure what you would have to do for that.  I hope you find this response to be helpful.

Thanks johnson , due to lawyer not answering call and no follow up i was not sure what is my option , because as soon as i paid him he is AWOL . And im not talking about calling everyday or anything , he just never answer after that for weeks , months.

I totally get it.  I think you may have to go after the lawyer if you want to eventually get your money back or just chop it up as a loss.  I am not sure of any potential paperwork involved but you would call whichever agency you are currently processing with to have them removed and name yourself if you are the USC as the agent and no longer need representation from a lawyer.

I truly hope someone that has had similar issues like you or did what you are inquiring about would respond.

If the form you are completing asks for a lawyer’s information you can leave it blank when you file.  I just saw the other day in news with USCIS that there had been fraud case against someone pretending to be lawyer and so forth so you have to be careful with scams out there.

Hi! My husband's interview was 2 days ago at the Paris embassy and he was told he was approved. It still says "ready" on the CEAC website. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Thanks

Hi guys! Has anyone called NVC and gotten any good verbal updates after your DQ in regards to how long until your interview is scheduled?  I’m just wondering if I should call or if it will just be a dead end.  I’ve seen previous cases at same embassy (Argentina) get the IL within a week. You get all excited from getting DQ and boom...you start losing the patience once again.
