Update: Hi, I received an update online a couple days ago, the new date for my oath ceremony is on Feb 26th. So about a month's wait time. Keeping fingers crossed

Best of Luck to folks who are still waiting.

Hello everyone,

Wanted to provide quick update: As of this morning I have officially completed this long journey and become an American Citizen🥳🎈🎉.

Oath Ceremony Experience:

Location: USCIS Office,  Fairfax, VA

  • Arrived 15 mins early at the USCIS office, They led me into a Naturalization Ceremony Waiting room.
  • Officer behind the counter was very polite and courteous
  • He requested my Appointment letter and Green Cards(Current & Expired)
  • Then he proceeded to ask me Yes/No questions
  • Upon completion he provided me a token number, asked me to take a seat in waiting area and there will be some other lady officer who will lead us all up to second floor Oath Ceremony Room.
  • After About 10 mins wait time, we were all asked to follow the lady officer to the second floor oath ceremony room and seat ourselves on the chair that has Naturalization Packet with the Token number provided in the waiting room earlier.
  • The Chairs were all placed 2 meters apart due to social distancing and I noticed they were only 20 chairs in the room.
  • Next, another officer walks in and explains us a few basic stuff such as once we become citizens we will have right to vote, update SSN after 15 days etc etc.
  • Then he proceeds to ask us all to stand up and take oath of allegiance and repeat after him.
  • Once done, our names were called to go one by one and collect the Naturalization certificate and check our information is correctly printed in it.
  • The lady officer who was giving the Certificate of Naturalization congratulated us while giving the certificates.
  • Then we were asked to leave the building.
  • We were told strictly no photos were allowed in the building and not to stop for taking any pictures.

In less than an hour since I arrived I was on my way back home full of happiness and joy. Glad this journey ended today.

Best Wishes,
- P

Bring all information with you to the appointment [go to the court house to get records of your tickets] and inform the officer of the mistakes at the beginning of the interview. just tell them honestly that you did the application yourself and made a few mistakes you wanna correct, you will be fine.

Thank you so much! I gathered all the information needed in case they will ask me more regarding those mistakes in my N400 application. Wish me luck!

You got this! Just one thing to study that some people miss is the vocab from the yes no questions, they can ask you what any of those mean; and some are not common knowledge!

P. S. to all, just got Oath letter! journeys end on March 18th! [timeline is complete if anyone wants to check]

So here's something mildly interesting, my daughter's physical interview notice arrived today and even though she falls under SF FO and the interview is there, the actual notice according to the bottom of the page was mailed out by the Fresno FO (i checked my old one and it was sent by SF FO). I'm guessing they are moving some of the admin around the FOs to try speed things up? Can't think what else this might mean.

My husband passed his interview today and took his oath! Thanks everyone for the support and good luck to all those who are still waiting!

Interview was at the San Francisco office. NOA date was Nov 15, 2019. We got the interview notice on Feb 2.

Husband said the officer was very nice and asked the civics questions first. He said it was very conversational. He said it looks scary at first bc there's a security guard who is stern, of course, but then all the other staff members are super nice and friendly.

He can only remember five questions:
-what was benjamin franklin famous for?
-who did we fight in ww2?
-who make the laws?
-how many senators in the senate?
-who does your senator represent?

Woohoo!!!

HELP! HELP!

I reviewed my snapshot on my N400 application. My Part 12 Question 13 was blank. 😥 I didn’t realize that I didn’t put answer on it.

Also, I didn’t put my 2 parking tickets in 2015 & 2018, and 1 rolling stop last 2016. It is all paid off right away. The 2015 parking ticket was waived. I checked my DMV records this afternoon, It was clean record. I cannot find my citation record.

Lastly, all my employment history was perfect until I noticed that I honestly forgot to put the part time job that I had for 3 months!

Can someone advise me what to do? 😣😣😣

Thank you so much!

Oh God! I finally passed my interview at 8:00am today. They did the same day Oath Taking at 11:15am. Yahoooo! Thank you all for all your help. God bless!

I am SF FO too. I’ve been waiting the same as yours. The online status is not that accurate. It says on my online status my completion time is in 10 months from now. Then, I received a letter last February 9 from USCIS stating that I am scheduled today March 9, 2021. Be patience. Yours is coming really soon. I’ll be praying for your interview. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
