Thanks @Poulette! It went well and did not take that long as I imagined it to be. We had a small group (75 people) so it was pretty fast. I took the opportunity to also register to vote and also applied for my passport and passport card 😃. Only thing left to do is to wait for 10 days to go to SSN to update my records and then I think I am done. Wondering if I also need to update/change my Driver's and ID since I do not have a name change 🤔.

Wishing you and the others a swift and smooth sailing transition soon!

Nice! I bet small groups make it not only fast but kinda cozy! I heard they are small groups in my city, too.

It's great that you were able to check those things off your to-do list! I don't think you have to do anything about the driver's license. If you have Global Entry or one of those traveler's programs, you do have to update your info with them.

Anyway, congratulations on being a US Citizen!

I'm Los Angeles too. Was August the original right after filing? Our estimate was August when we filed then June after did biometric and then July after being reviewed. So it does move around.

Hello fellow SGV applicant! So I just doubled check mine and it's October as well. Maybe it's just additional review due to the recent public charge going into effect since it's the same office that does LPR as well as our citizenship. Pulling hands off everything to double check LPR applicants. I do expect a delay due to fact we have a ongoing ROC case along with our N400. But your guess is as good as mine.

Hi Chicago filer here. I appreciate everyone here for their contributions on this platform. It’s been a long journey but thankfully it’s almost over for me. I want to debunk the thought that Chicago is slow. It’s absolutely not.
I filed (paper) November 13th, 2019 scheduled for bio on Dec 11th.2019, had my interview on March 5th.2020. Interview went very well. The officer is extremely nice and courteous. I was suppose to be there at 1pm but considering Chicago traffic I left home early and got to the office at 12:10pm. I checked in at around 12:15pm. Officer called me for the interview at around 12:30pm. He thanked  me for coming early and started the interview process. Had to update my form because i had a baby 3weeks before my interview.

I had the first 6 questions correct and so continued with the yes/no questions on the form. NOTE ; Through out the interview the officer will be testing your ability to speak and understand English. He asked me to verify my name and address and also verify my name change (added a middle name) which I did. He congratulated me and said he recommended my n400 is approved.

He said My oath ceremony will be in a court house due to the change of name and also I should get the oath ceremony notice within 2 and half weeks. I check my Uscis account today and the notice has been mailed as of March 9th.

In all the process took 4months. I thought it will be longer considering it’s in Chicago but not at all.
Also Chicago n400 interview are held in a open area settings like a bank. Officers sit like how tellers do in a bank and applicant are at the window but with a long chair. A total of 19 windows. That’s why Chicago is faster.
