It is a great feeling for sure! My interview officer told me that I will get a letter in 30 days on on the ceremony date 😏. Online when I checked, still said I will be done by May 2020 still.

Don't give up. You may be surprised. I updated the google sheet and added month to completion formula to mine and member user that had the oath ceremony date scheduled. I suck in calculating manually 😜 - hopefully others will find it useful as well.

That's useful, thanks! :)

Awesome!! What a great feeling to be almost done with this long, long journey! 😀

I lost my hopes of having my oath in February. I know this month ceremonies are held on the 20, 21, 27 & 28, twice a day. But since I haven't heard by now, I think I'll have to wait for the last two weeks of March, if lucky. The officer at my interview said to wait 90 days, anyway. I am just hoping it was one of those exaggerated estimates. 😬

How do you know that those are the dates scheduled for oath ceremonies? Is it for all USCIS locations? How can I check mine?

My interview is next week, and I’m hoping to be approved/ have my oath ceremony scheduled in February as well. I’ll keep y’all posted.

I googled oath ceremony dates + the name of my city. Almost all of the ceremonies in my city are held at the court, but they don't actually post the dates online, but you can call the court to ask; they called me back right away and were very courteous (pun intended). Many other locations do post the dates online (URL ending in .uscourts.gov)

Good luck with your interview!

Hello all,

I was K1 but got divorced. I have a GC now. I am from the Middle East.
It is about time to apply for N400.
I am not sure how easy or hard the interview and the officer questions about why did you get divorce in less than a year.

My question, do I have to hire a lawyer. Or it is ok/easy to do it by myself?
I am just worried about the interview since I was married and divorced through K1 waiver

Thanks.

You removed conditions with a divorce waiver?

I would certainly expect they will ask questions about the marriage again in such a case. How easy or hard they will be will depend on the specifics of your case. They will have the record from your ROC interview too.  A lawyer might help you understand the type of questions they might ask about this.

Had my interview today in Detroit, filed 11/01. Took about an hour and a half but interview time wasn't too long. The IO conducted the english/civics first and rolled through the 50 yes/no questions on the application very quickly. Was given a sheet that said I had been recommended for approval.

Status changed to "You attended the interview" and "We approved your application" a couple of hours later
