My interview is on the 23rd early in the AM in Memphis, a 3-hour drive from home, and now I'm getting anxious because... what if it snows?!  I'm sure it's gonna snow, and my interview is going to be postponed... I know, it's useless to anticipate, but the panic is real! 😬

Expand

I feel you! I only have an hour or so drive for my interview and we usually get a lot of snow too. just watch the weather often and check you field office for any announcement in case they postponed your interview.

but you will be fine :) Good luck to us!

I think I mentioned how I've been studying for the civics test without feeling last-minute pressure: flash cards with each question on one side and the answer I'm planning on giving on the other. Then every day, I would pick a few cards and read them a few times. That's it. Next day, another few. (There are some that you may find easy to begin with, so I set those aside.) By now I can say I am pretty confident with all the questions. Well, I hope so! (We'll see next week, lol) I'm gonna have my husband test me this weekend. 😨

I've seen in another group someone posting 5 random questions every day to encourage everyone to study or review in a relaxed way. Maybe we could do something like this here? :)

As per the test guide you need to know both senators for your state, as well as your district’s congressional representative.

In our case, in order to review all the questions before our interview, we should go 10 at a time, lol. Let's do just 5, though. ;)

Ok! Here is the first daily set of 5 random questions to review for the test: :)

- Who is one of your State's US Senators now? (Q.20) (find yours at http://www.senate.gov/states/statesmap.htm)

- What is freedom of religion? (Q.10)

- Who is the "Father of our Country"? (Q.69)

- How old do citizens have to be to vote for President? (Q.54)

- What does the President's Cabinet do? (Q.35)

(I added the question number for each question as they appear in the USCIS Civics booklet)

I did download an app to check once in a while how I'm doing. But I mostly pick at random some of the flash cards I created (I'm old style, still love paper and pen)

I think, though, I should practice with my husband asking the questions to me, to better mock the interview. In the end, it's not that I will be picking cards from the officer, lol

You are right! that is a good trick!

For me I tried to at least practice 2 or 3 times  using the 2020 US Citizenship app and then when I get to work I listen to the audio once  . It helps and I am getting confident more and more 😁.

That's great!

See, I'm more of a visual learner. I can't do audio. I get distracted too easily! (I wish I could do audiobooks or podcasts while driving or cleaning the house.)

The important thing is that each one finds the strategy that works best for them. We're all gonna do great!
