Hi,

I received my Packages 3 in email , wasn’t it surprising? Because I was expecting in regular mail as other got!

Our received date at the Consulate in Montreal was exactly the same as yours, but as of today (11/23) we haven't received Packet 3. You received Packet 3 as an email. That you know of.. did you do anything outside of normal procedures to get P3 as an email? For instance.. did you contact them in any way?

I guess my larger question is.. why do some get P3 as an email and some only as a letter? There should be some explanation for this.

So after I got the case # by calling NVC, I tracked our case and it's in transit to Montreal.

I feel like I should've received a mail with invoice# once the NVC received our file.

Is this correct or am I waiting to hear back from the consulate once they receive our case?

I feel like I'm reading alot of different things and my head is all confused.

I thought I needed to register with MTL# and invoice# and then fill out DS160 and pay for fee.

Is there anyone that can enlighten me on these confusing steps? 😥

No.. they don't do that.

You now wait for Packet 3. Takes a while to come. In the meantime.. go on with your life and try not to think about this too much.

Not unusual. Join the club.

AFAIK.. you can submit the DS-160 anytime after you have your case number.

January 22 booked!

Question, is anyone doing their medical in Montreal before the interview? How much time should i give myself between the two dates?

Thanks in advance

One week should be good. I drove from Ottawa to MTL got my medical, drove home, week later I went to the MTL medical place picked it up, walked over to the consulate. I got an email after 4-5 days after my medical telling me that it was available to be picked up.

Hi everyone - I'm so thankful for this thread! We received our MTL case number on November 12 but have not yet received packet 3. In reading through your comments and related questions, which I've now learned a lot from, it seems as though I can just go ahead and submit the DS-160 while I wait for the packet 3 to come in the mail??
