So I read the document that was an FAQ but I still have the most important unanswered question: What do I do now????

I feel like most obvious question wasn't answered in the FAQ. It makes it sound like I should be calling the NVC every day and tracking shipments?  I don't understand for what real purpose.

If I get the NVC case number can I schedule the embassy interview quicker somehow?

What should I be doing now, if anything?

Thanks to whoever put together the FAQ, but I feel like the most important question wasn't answered. What do I do???

The information is there you are just lacking the knowledge of what goes when; sequential pattern so to say. Most of are "deer in the headlights" at times during this process.

In order to move your case forward from NVC to Embassy most here want to know the "status" of their case so calling the NVC and getting your case number will allow you to do three things right away. Complete the DS-160 and track your case from NVC to the embassy and have the knowledge when your case arrives to the embassy and is set to "ready'.

You should start reading the links below for all the information you will need for the interview.

Additional information can be found here:

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

I also had a similar question.  Can my fiance in Honduras fill out and basically file his ds160 when I get the nvc number from calling to get it?  Can he schedule his interview when he files the ds160?  Does he need to wait til he gets packet 4 to go to his medical visit?  I just want to make sure I get the steps right.

Begin my going to the embassy's website and search under visa - immigrant - fiancee for additional details download the pdf file here https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/TGG_Tegucigalpa.pdf

That should get you started.

So that didn't really help me all that much.  The questions i posted are basically yes or no questions.  Even someone giving me an answer to the best of their ability would be helpful.

Thanks

I just updated the PDF file to include "what's next" steps. You'll find the "steps" at the top of the page. I hope this helps you to understand the process from NOA2 to Embassy.

Brilliant, thank you! Your pdf has helped a lot.

The only issue I'm having now is trying to get to the Montreal Consulates website to see what forms will be required aside from the DS-160. I seem to be going around in circles on thier website and not finding much helpful. Even the links I found in the Canada threads were broken. Any chance you could help me out?

@Greenbaum I for one really appreciate the advice you’ve given on VJ across the vast range of topics in this process. I know a lot of your time is given to writing on here and helping others...we received our NOA2 last Friday and are now just navigating all of the related forums to get the info needed to progress to hopefully a visa in my passport to be with my beautiful fiancée... keep up the good work and good luck to all currently headed to the NVC!!

Here you go.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

You can't hurry it along at all. You must wait till you see your date on ceac change to ready two times. Second change you can send in your P3. A copy of the P3 is linked below. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

Packet 3: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  And Packet 4 for reference also: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/03/Packet4-MTL.pdf

For all things dealing with the US Consulate in Canada head on over to the sub-forum for Canada where they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Birth Certificate and Police Certificate information

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aa5iWVtFniXGWavXN0zs-94dewD2Fdfy/view?usp=sharing

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parents name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet sized one with parents names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents travelling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with format. Hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.

In case you're doing the medical in Vancouver: Dr. Cheema requires you to schedule the interview first in order to book the medical.

Routine vaccinations such as MMR, Tetanus, Flu Shots, etc are offered free of charge in the province of Ontario. Patients can walk into any health care clinical or family physician office and receive these immunizations for free.  it would be better to go and get your vaccinations free of charge rather than pay any additional fees at these the medical exams.

Also there is a discussion about the new requirements for PC and fingerprints found here

There are experts over in the sub-forum for your country located here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/  This is where others from your country who are processing or those who have completed their interview and they can guide you on their experience. A TON of information and help there.

Decreeabsolute with a judges signature. You need to fill in a form, D-160 which is available online to print and send it completed along with your decree absolute to Bury St Edmunds, the divorce court. I actually called the courts and explained my situation. They were most helpful in explaining what I needed to do. Signed certificate will be back within 3 weeks.
