I just called nvc today (12/12/19) and we got our case number!!  Our case was received Dec 9th.

Oh also, I just happened to check the DHL site a couple minutes ago and it showed that it had been picked up shipped and then finally departed at 23:31 with an estimated arrival of Friday the 13th by the end of the day.

According to Greenbraun's document on the first page of this topic, the best time to call is 7 AM EST.  That is too early for me due to time zones.  I called late morning and had to wait on hold for 10 to 15 minutes.

For the NOA2, I called on the day it was approved, but they told me they were a half a year away from working on it.  I waited through a 3 day weekend all depressed to find out that was approved on the day I had called.  I call the NVC on day 18, they say 6 weeks, I call the next day, and they received it and gave it a case number.  Keep up hope, it is probably close to happening.

Thank you for the kind words and support. I know exactly how you feel. Some of the lowest moments we’re waiting for the NOA2 and it’s creeping back now with this wait.

I’ve been calling real late around 10pm EST. and have had no wait then.

I'm only on day 12 taking away Thanksgiving and Friday After Thanksgiving.

I think I'll try my luck on day 18

Once you get your case number from the NVC they ship your case to your embassy but they only ship out every two weeks. December’s dates are 12/10 and 12/24. Your number and case have to be ready a few days before the shipment to make it otherwise you’re waiting for the next one in two weeks. Hence why I’m hoping to get my number before the end of next week otherwise we’ll be waiting until 1/7.

Hopefully ours all show up this week. I’m sure thanksgiving plus the NVC having a snow day last week maybe just bumped it back a day or two.
