Our NOA2 was Nov 14th, and after calling today was told our case was received at the NVC and assigned our case number on Dec 5th :)

I'm not sure if that means we'll miss out on the shipment on the 10th? Will there be a shipment on the 24th?

There is a simple way to determine that and that is read the PDF that is on the first page of this thread. It simply lays it out for you. Now with the holidays, the logic can be thrown out the window but my bet is that it will travel along the normal shipping schedule.

According the the pdf and other peoples experiences, if your case received a case number by Wednesday of the this week, then chances are you'd be on the next shipment on the 10th:)

I just checked ceac site and got my 2nd ready status! WOOHOO!!!!

Does that mean I should change my timeline Consulate received to 12/6 since that's the date actual paper file received?

Or should I just keep the date I have now which is the electronic file received date?

Anyways, I'll still be waiting for packet 3 so we can complete DS160 and etc.

So excited!!!

My fiance will keep working till March so we're not in a hurry but...I still get anxious and want to proceed all these steps fast.

Anyways I hope December will be filled with moving forward for everyone!

Here is the information for Canada. Don't wait for the embassy to respond follow the instructions for the P3 checklist from the links below.

You can't hurry it along at all. You must wait till you see your date on ceac change to ready two times. Second change you can send in your P3. A copy of the P3 is linked below. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

Packet 3: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  And Packet 4 for reference also: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/03/Packet4-MTL.pdf

For all things dealing with the US Consulate in Canada head on over to the sub-forum for Canada where they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Birth Certificate and Police Certificate information

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parents name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet sized one with parents names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents travelling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with format. Hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.

In case you're doing the medical in Vancouver: Dr. Cheema requires you to schedule the interview first in order to book the medical.

Routine vaccinations such as MMR, Tetanus, Flu Shots, etc are offered free of charge in the province of Ontario. Patients can walk into any health care clinical or family physician office and receive these immunizations for free.  it would be better to go and get your vaccinations free of charge rather than pay any additional fees at these the medical exams.

Also there is a discussion about the new requirements for PC and fingerprints found here

Thanks, I've read all of those from your responses elsewhere and that's why I'm waiting for P3 after 2nd ready like you said.

Also, I've asked my fiance to get on the police report since that seems like it will take some time.

The only thing I need to worry about is the finance thing since I didn't have to pay for tax last year since alot of tax deductibles from opening a new business.

I might need to get my parents to joint sponsor just to be safe I think.

Oh one more questions, this might be more clear once I get p3 or p4 but do both parties need to be  present at the interview? I think not, but just to be sure!

Anyways, thanks for help on this website always!

Called NVC just now and I was informed that our case got there today (12/06). No case number yet, obviously. But it's there! ❤ NOA2 date is 11/18.

Have a great weekend!

You don't have to wait for them to do that part. It may be a few weeks before they send you the P4 to schedule your interview.

Also, I've asked my fiance to get on the police report since that seems like it will take some time. Good idea.

The only thing I need to worry about is the finance thing since I didn't have to pay for tax last year since a lot of tax deductibles from opening a new business. You must have filed some document to prove your personal tax liabilities. They still must be presented whether you paid taxes or not. I'm assuming you are the petitioner. Beneficiary submits no tax returns.

I might need to get my parents to joint sponsor just to be safe I think.

Oh one more questions, this might be more clear once I get p3 or p4 but do both parties need to be  present at the interview? I think not, but just to be sure! Not a requirement for Canada.

Anyways, thanks for help on this website always! Your Welcome.

See above.

Sure, I'd be happy to!

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Spain requires the embassy send the packet 3 which allows the beneficiary to schedule and attend the medical and needs to be brought to the medical appointment, and in order to book the interview Spain requires packet 4. I have not verified this but this information came from someone who processed recently.

A wet signature is not required for the I-134 that will be presented at the interview.

Procedure for Obtaining: For information about how to request the” Certificado de Antecedentes Penales” you can visit the following web page mjusticia.gob.es.

This Friday  (12/13) has been a month since we got our NOA2. I called last week and wait an hour on the phone on NVC and they said nothing was received yet. Should I try calling again on Fri?

Our case number with the nvc was assigned on December 5 and i logged into the nvc and says “a ds 160 must be filled out in order for a consular section to process the case” is this normal or do i need to fill out the ds 160 now?  Because when i called the nvc they said i will be receiving instructions from the embassy when they receive it.  This is for a k1 visa in the Philippines. Thank you for any help
