1. How do I update my email address with NVC: Once you receive your NOA2 approval then

contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-
resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email

address. This will give you an email alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case is assigned
and when the file leaves for your Embassy. Enter the petitioner's information as well as the
beneficiary's in the "empty box". Full name, Date of Birth, (use DD/MONTH/YYYY, i.e.,
08/April/2019 for the DOB field) NOA2 receipt number and WAC number. We have found in
some cases that emails are never sent and in other cases this works well. So, your mileage
may vary.

Our NOA2 and WAC number are the same - is that correct?

Yes. You'll find the WAC number on your NOA1 and 2.

Thanks - so once we do that we just wait and if we dont hear something by the fifth week of getting our noa2 we start calling? Also when we submit our information in the type your question below box, do we put we are updating our email addresses or received our noa2, or any context or just provide our information as is?

State in the box that you would like to receive email confirmation with your case number and when it leaves NVC. Then add the important personal information. All in the box.

We received our NOA2 11/13 and just sent the email today because we didn't know I had to. How else would they let us know it was received by NVC and case number, via post? I plan to call next week if we dont hear anything.

Did you read through the pdf that is at the start. Do you have your LND number from NVC
You can do your 160 but no you will get an email from London once it’s ready if I remember right. Ryan, the applicant, received everything after NOA 2 approval.
I was the petitioner did not receive anything else until he arrived in the US. 🙏
Packet 3 and 4 are emails only between filling out the DS 160 than once they email the applicant they can do the medical and schedule interview, pay the fees. Etc.

We just went through London in October.
Good luck and Congrats !

Also, it took 4-6 weeks for our packet to get from USCIS to NVC.

Almost two months to London Embassy due to the cut off dates of when they assign the number to when they ship the packets to embassy.
Where you just approved two weeks ago ?
Your not delayed in any way unless it’s finally sped up again.
I would keep following the pdf and make it your friend. I reread that thing probably 100 times while waiting but it’s very accurate.
I get it.. easier said than done.

Good Luck to you both and YMMV.

I wasn’t saying I was getting delayed, just curious as how weather and closures might affect the process.

im aware of the timeframe although most people in this thread have been getting to the NVC in 2-3 weeks after NOA2s.

Package received from the Embassy yesterday.

A few documents required in original - petitioners divorce docs original or court certified divorce decree document.

payment accepted

all documentation is ready _ minus the divorce decree which is enroute with DHL

First available date is Thursday 12th December 2019

the Next available   is Thursday 16th January 2020

i have 2 concerns

  • first off, The approval date of I129F being the 15 Oct 2019 - meaning the USCIS approval expires on the 14th of Febuary 2020 - leaving not a lot of days to obtain supportive documentation should we somehow have missed any item or be required to provide additional evidence.    should I be concerned and opt for the first date

  • Secondly I am travelling to the US for x mas - if i select the december date i may have a visa issued before travelling on my Visa Waiver        should i be concerned and opt for the Second date

I am a frequent visitor in the US and have a lot of supportive documentation on my need to return to Denmark before moving to the USA on the K1 Visa

what would you recommend ?

You don’t have to wait that long to start calling. Some people have called and found out it’s been received within 2-3 weeks. I’d start calling at the two week mark. Although I’ve seen a few get to the NVC in 12 days or so. Doesn’t hurt to call although wait times are long.

Some will extend and some will not. I don't know about the UK.

  • Secondly I am travelling to the US for x mas - if i select the December date i may have a visa issued before travelling on my Visa Waiver        should i be concerned and opt for the Second date A new visa will cancel the old. So buyer beware. Don't take a chance I'd up for the January interview date and get your visa then.

Yes.  I called at the 2 week mark (mostly just because i get self conscious about being annoying, lol), but you could start calling now to see if they got it in sooner. You never know.

Which is why I said YMMV.
I did the same as you did and wasted hours and hours on the phone.
Once I relaxed it moved forward.

If your aware than I’ve wasted my time.
That’s great if you have seen it speed up.
Good luck on your journey and Congrats !

Called NVC just now and I got through right away. Hopefully it's always that easy at this time of the day (11AM for me). Our case isn't there yet. I am aware that it takes up to 6 weeks though, just wanted to see if we're one of the lucky ones.

Best of luck and God bless everyone!

I gotta try earlier in the day next time then. Called last night around 6 and waited an hour on hold.

Make sure you call the non immigrant line 1-603-334-0888. I had more luck there.

Hopefully it’s consistently slower that time of the night. It was 10PM EST when I called.

Good luck!

I’ve been calling the other one. The 0700 line. I’ll have to try that one then. I’m not calling every day though so maybe tomorrow morning.
