As far as I can see with data they seem to be averaging exactly where they should be. The data here on VJ is an approximate based on those who are on VJ and who have accurately filled out timelines. It does not take into account those who are not on VJ etc. Let's not make an already stressful situation into more by adding

the coronavirus into the mix. It could be a factor and it could not be. We won't know until IF the USCIS decides to make a statement on it.

Patience. Calm. Reason.

Tomorrow is another day for approvals 👌

Ours is about 20 days past due. :(  Does anyone know what might make one go more quickly and another more slowly?

Everyone's case is different because they are running background checks, verifying your information on the form, and manually resolving any potential issues their system automatically flags.

Hang in there! I'm sure you'll get it soon!

Hi there,

I have the same NOA1 date as you too and also still waiting, so you're not alone in this battle :)  Personally I feel that they might do extra checks on us, because we're both from Muslim countries, although I am not one. If it helps, you can talk to me too, it would be nice to have someone else going through the same situation together. Hopefully we will hear some good news this week, despite the uncertainty, I would also like it to be slightly later when the storm has passed i.e. with some embassies closing etc.

Stay strong! <3

Hey both of you! My NOA1 is slightly behind you but I’m from Malaysia as well. It gets pretty frustrating especially w the whole thing going on. Fingers crossed for us, I’m sure we will hear some good news soon ❤️

I know it really sucks, but the best way to get through this is to lower your expectations and try not to compare your timeline to anyone else's. Don't forget that the people here on Visa Journey represent a tiny percentage of all the petitions the CSC has to work through! When someone gets to your file you'll hear from them. Stay busy, talk a lot with your fiancé about non-visa stuff, don't forget to hang out with your friends, take up a new hobby, go to a sporting event, and your time will come! Good luck

Explanation why is it taking so long.

I'm around the same date as you all too! My fiance is from Ethiopia and it seems that the "high-risk" countries take longer? I think a lot of the quick approvals were "western" countries. Not sure if that's totally true but just my observation. Maybe, as you say, it is more rigorous background checking.

I'm hoping if we get approved now the NVC will still be operating, and maybe by the time it passes through the NVC the embassies will be opening back up? Fingers crossed. Though Ethiopia is just now getting their first cases so I think things will get worse there and close embassy for sure.

Good luck to you- keep us posted!!

I don’t know if this can be of any reassurance or help, but in my case I was approved on March 13th as some of you may have read and I just received the notification online. So, maybe and hopefully, your case has been approved already and simply needs to be uploaded in the system. Hang in there everyone and your approval will come sooner than you expect it!

@Reyess what are your next moves now? Are you going to start gathering all the documents for the interview or you’re just going to wait for their directions?

I’ve been gathering some documents already, for example I already have my birth certificate, my immunization records and my police certificates!
