Maybe an expedited   case!

That's the only explanation I can think of for getting the NOA2 so quickly. I wonder what USCIS considers a good reason to expedite? I've not looked much into that

Still we rise, here and now

The petitioner must initiate a case to be expedited. It's not given through any charity or other reason.

Hey Greenbaum, I know that our interviews are a while out but I was wondering if owing on your federal taxes that you have not yet paid off will affect a co-sponsor for the I-134. One of our co-sponsors has not yet paid back what he owes in full but hes doing it in payments.

Still we rise, here and now

I'm FULLY aware it has to be requested/applied for. I was just  answering  the original  question on why it might have been approved in 38 days!

Hi all, I’m new to the forum and this thread. Mailed the I129F 11/12/19, delivered 11/14/19, NOA1 via text 12/4/19. Never received the hard copy, I called 1/31/20 to get a new one sent, was told we had another 132 days until USCIS is done with their part of the process,  calculated 6/11/20, but hopefully it’ll happen sooner.

Is it a big deal if I don’t get the hard copy, or is the whole thing dependent upon having the hard copy? As an airline pilot, I hate unnecessary piles of papers to keep track of.

I feel like this is a big exercise in patience, what we in the military called “hurry up and wait.”

I feel like it is probably a good idea to keep hard copy evidence of everything in the immigration process. You never know when you're going to need it! But that is just my take on it. More experienced users can chime in as well.

I think we are all learning that patience is a virtue and maybe one that we thought we had but is proving hard to keep now! 😉

As mentioned always a good idea to keep all correspondence from USCIS, the NOA1 is not really needed, but again you would want it. They should resend the hard copy as requested. Yes hurry and wait that's the norm here!

I do have a screen shot of the text, which is also in my phone, as well as a USCIS account. So I have other means to prove it. From my time in the military, and now as a cargo pilot, I learned patience a long time ago. Things will happen when they do, until then, I’ll happily keep circling the world.

The best organizational tool that I use is to make a scanned copy of every thing sent and every thing received. Create a folder and drop it in. Next create a google drive folder and copy every thing there. Now you have access anywhere in the world. Taking a picture is OK but the best course of action is to scan to a PDF and stow it away.

I have a folder for every process that my wife has gone through. I keep a copy of her important papers such as BC, GC, DL, SSN and now Naturalization Certificate.

@Tacos

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

The NOA1 is not used for anything. Notta. Zilch. It will never be asked for. So don't go crazy trying to get a copy.

Hi y'all! I am a little late to find this group. Received our packet on Nov 7th, and we are now waiting on our NOA2. I checked other threats and look the timelines etc. I think we will start to get some NOA2 news very very soon. My predictions about our case before Feb 14.

You got your NOA1 on Nov 7th? Fingers crossed for before Feb 14 but I'm feeling late Feb or early Mar. However all we can do is wait and see. I cannot wait until there is screaming in here and I am excited for all of us! Fingers crossed.

Still we rise, here and now
