Yikes! Accidentally left questions blank on DS-260.

Hi, I just looked over the DS-260 form I submitted online several weeks ago, and I see that 3 or 4 questions where I should have selected “yes or no” were actually left blank even though I proofed the form several times. Has this happened to anyone else before? And do you think it will result in an RFE? Or is it more likely that they will just go ahead and schedule the interview and ask me those questions in the interview? I feel terrible and I can't believe I managed to skim past those few questions and left them blank.

Not sure about DS forms but I know other uscis forms sometimes show the online copy having blank boxes despite having been filled in correctly for submission. Is it possible this happened ? I’d expect you’d just be asked about them in interview if they are blank. (Can you even submit a DS if you leave questions out?)

NVC doesn’t issue RFEs. In what section did you leave them blank?

Oh okay - shows how much I know. So if NVC doesn’t issue RFE’s who does?

And there were a few sections. I actually went through it again and found 7 blanks total and I’m wondering how on earth i missed that many. 2 of the 7 were in the Security and Background section. Maybe I should email NVC with the correct answers so they know it was a mistake to leave them blank...

True. I really hope that's the case. Cause I can't imagine how I left all those questions blank. Also I just saw on the travel.state.gov site in the FAQ's it says the DS-260 won't allow you to submit it with blanks, but in the next sentence it says if you don't answer questions that apply your form may be rejected. That's confusing...

...it means you may leave optional questions blank, but if those questions apply to you then it can be rejected. So anything you had to fill in would have been. In other words, relax :)

I think this might be a bug in CEAC. We have a question that was definitely answered that is now showing as blank too. I did a quick search on here and wasn't able to find any cases of this happening to anyone else, but since we've both had this issue in the last few weeks, I doubt we're the only ones it has happened to. Since you are a few weeks ahead of us, please post an update when you are DQ or if you are asked to resubmit (though hopefully it will be the former!)

I had the same issue. I found questions unanswered and some weren’t even there when filling out the form. How do I know? Because I made a copy before I submitted it... call nvc and they said that the form generates questions base on answers and once it says completed done worrg about it... am confuse and worried because this is very strange luckily I had copies of what I did before submitting it as proof

That’s awesome to hear I’m not alone!! Thank you for calling them and sharing what they said. That is great news. I’m not gonna worry about it either. Let’s keep on looking up!!

I’ll think we should be prepared for them to ask us those questions....

No worries either way... for me they were all yes or no answers. Just have to show up and tell the truth. My only concern initially was that I may have somehow missed answering them in the first place! But that’s not even possible. I feel so much better now. 😁 just have to be patient and wait for that glorious day when we get the invite to the interview!!!

No problem! DQ means documentarily qualified. You'll know that you are DQ when you get the email from them saying they will work with the consulate to schedule your interview.
