MIAMI (AP) — The Trump administration is banning U.S. flights to all Cuban cities except Havana in the latest move to roll back the Obama-era easing of relations, officials said Friday.

Supporters of the ban said it would starve the Havana government of cash and limit its ability to repress Cubans and support Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, whom the U.S. wants to overthrow.

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

Because we have been fighting with them so long, we forgot what we are fighting about. I fully believe in Mcdonalds diplomacy.  Put a few Mickey Ds down there and let them get a taste of freedom, things will go towards reform. They probably align with the rouge socilaist becuse we s hun them.

 

Did you know Ho chi Minh was a US ally before we abandoned him and backed the French. The vietnamese only cared about vietnam being unified.  

 

I think going the other way on Cuba is a mistake

Well, I certainly think the Vietnamese would have been much better allies than the French.  Not sure Cuba has much to offer us, TBH.
