Hi! Has anyone experienced this before?

I applied for my SSN on Sept 3rd just a week after I arrived here. The local office said they would forward it to DHS for verification coz they couldnt do it in SAVE so we just said yes and did not argue. Almost two months now but my number still hasn't been created. I have been calling and inquiring at the local SSA about it till today when I was told to contact DHS to check it coz it seems stuck there. Called DHS but they said they don't check nor provide beneficiaries with SSN status.

Also, I have already submitted my AOS (still waiting for NOA) wherein I checked the SSN part. However, I'm still hoping to get my SSN as soon as I can so I can start driving.

Any inputs on this? Thanks!

Just a side note, just because you have a SSN does  not by itself allow you to get a driver license in some cases.

Thanks, but here in Ohio one can get a license with an SSN and proof of address.

I probably should have said "some states"  instead of "some cases" nevertheless good for your situation that Ohio allows it!

Verify the mailing address.   Ours wasn't delivered because we failed to notate the address with C/O (in care of) and the USPS would not deliver

When a fiance with  a different last name arrives in the USA, is there anything a petitioner can do to set her up to receive mail at the petitioner's address?  Is there some form or something to file at the post office to say "Hey! She lives her! Deliver her mail!"

I signed my fiancee up for player's cards from nearby casinos and she has gotten some mailers delivered to me but I think some haven't been delivered even though USPS Informed Delivery email told me they were coming.

I did write her name inside the mailbox at my condo next to my name and this may have cured the issue but I'm not sure.

C/O [your address]

YMMV
