Or it could be that posting those photos intended for his eyes only broke the trust in the relationship (as she stated) because the sharing was not consented to.  There is a good reason he has the EX status.

My point being that it's likely he did not act out of malice, aside from whatever else their relationship suffered from. It's a different situation than the congresswoman's.

It did. But I was an idiot and took him back after a six-month campaign by him to prove to me he had changed. To be fair, I think he never did that again.

No, you're right. He didn't do it out of malice. He was bragging about me, but he said the worst things about me, like how he had flattered me into thinking I had any intelligence whatsoever, but why did I need brains when I look like this? It was humiliating.

No, NOTHING like that, thanks, even though yes, there is no malice in either. When Alex says something like, "Do you know why you have to make me a sandwich?" (the answer is because I'm (i.e. me, Layla) a woman), it's a joke. I'm his equal in this marriage to be, and if I make all (or most) of the sandwiches, it's because he is (1) hopeless at sandwich making and (2) I enjoy making sandwiches. I am not expected to make sandwiches. There are no punishments for not making sandwiches. When my ex told me I had to perform in certain ways -- be charming and decorative at some god awful Republican fundraiser for example -- I was expected to be that way, even if I didn't really want to go at all. Because there were certainly punishments, like getting frozen out or berated or whatever. 

 

And Alex is NOT my boyfriend. We are engaged as of about 10 days ago. Remember, you made fun of me for getting a bracelet?

Okay, I know. He's just not great at slicing bread. I got him one of those bagel slicer things and he can slice bagels now, so he is on bagel duty. I want to buy one of those electric bread slicing machines but I don't have the room right now for it. Yes, yes, I could get pre-sliced bread but the boules and loaves I prefer from Acme just taste better when freshly sliced. It's my preference.

 

He would be fine with Kroger white bread but I can't stand the stuff.

Captain Derst is the best but i generally stick with a higher fiber less carb bread
