It's nice. But it's not a ring, is it?

No, it's not. The ring is coming. I'm starting to think about what I want it to be like. I'd love a gemstone rather than a diamond this time. I'm in no rush. 😊

Neither, it seems, is your fiance. ;)

We're used to waiting, him in particular. I wasn't the easiest at times. I did ask him if I had been too flirty in here though, as I promised.

So I guess I was okay?

😘 (I'm allowed to do that.)

Well to be fair he has a point.

I will be supporting England vs South Africa btw.

I am not so sure I can handle staying up from 2-4am to watch it, so I will probably just DVR it and watch it in the morning when I get up. He has zero interest in seeing it, and was hoping Wales would beat the Boks so he really doesn't have a dog in this fight. I slept through the Wales vs SA match but apparently it wasn't nearly as entertaining as the one on Saturday morning. I understand England are favorites for the final but I have become accustomed over the years living with an Englishman who watched a lot of English international football matches that it does not pay to believe that England will ever win anything! Better to assume they will lose and be pleasantly surprised. Al laughed at me when it was like 65-70 minutes into the match, when England was still racking up points, I was like, well, England is still going to lose, I can feel it.

Still can't get into cricket, I did try.

Well it is 2 hours later for me so no chance. Cricket strikes me as being something that would interest those who follow Baseball.

It was the ex who followed cricket. Now he's a Dodgers season ticket holder after my father converted him to baseball. They still go to all the Dodgers home games together even though we're divorced because...? I guess fandom is stronger than family?

That would explain @Boris Farage's devotion to Trump! :star:

I was more prescient than I expected.

No Baseball or Cricket here, foot of snow plus and -6F this morning.

If they had season tickets next to each other I can see it, but not normal I would have thought. What was that film based on Arsenal but actually transposed to Baseball...

They do have season tickets together. The ex has bought them since... 2013? Something like that. And my dad's a lifelong Dodgers fan so I think his rationale is that how could he pass up this kind of opportunity??? It amazes me how he can compartmentalize his life.

I think the movie is based on that Nick Hornby book I've forgotten the name of! Alex hates Arsenal with a blazing passion but what does he know, he supports St. Johnstone.
