We received NOA2 this weekend! I'm aware it now has to be sent to the NVC then will be transferred to the London embassy (I am from the UK). I was hoping on visiting my fiance in the US at the end of December/ start of January for 2 weeks (this is the only time I can take off work), however as we have received NOA2 I am not sure how long everything will take and whether I may have the visa by then and therefore be unable to ravel there until I intend to move there to get married. I know no one can tell me for sure, but I guess I just mean given everyone else's experience would you say my visit in January is possible? I am also not sure whether you can get a choice of dates for the medical or whether they give you a date which you have to go to, otherwise I could try and delay this?

Just to explain further, we are hoping to get married beginning of April, I am moving back in with parents so I can save and therefore can't move before this as we both need to save up, this is why we are hoping for trip in Jan. Otherwise he can come to England in Jan but he doesn't get much time off work so would be more of a struggle.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

You have time to visit... it will be at least a month before you get case number and invoice... then even if you upload info immediately likely another month until DQ.. plus a month to apprange interview...

we got noa2 3 weeks ago, I still have a 1 month vacation booked in USA over Xmas new year, not worried in the slightest about interview and AUS is fast for processing at consulate.

Not sure about you, but we have to schedule our own medical to happen before interview after DQ at NVC...

I don’t see your timeline, it is so much easier to answer questions if one is filled out.

However, NVC can take up to 6-8 weeks to provide a LND number.
You should visit the NOA2-NVC forum as there’s a wonderful pdf @Greenbaum has done that can walk you through each step of your case.
In UK, you will schedule your own medical and own interview.
Once you receive NOA 2 you can fill out the DS 160.
You/petitioner or applicant (Or both) will receive a packet 3 after the LND is assigned. It is a basic email with a link to follow a few steps (enter in DS160 number, pay fees, schedule medical).
Then you will receive a packet 4 by email with a basic link that says interview is ready and you can pick your appointment time online.
(packet 3 and 4 for UK are basically just emails that guide you through the rest of the steps of you petition/visa)

Interview and Medical appointments open up at specific times for the following month.
You need to visit the UK forum as there are many people that are experienced and can help you through these steps.
You have 6 months from the medical to enter on the K1 so we waited to schedule his medical until after his visit.
Ryan and I did slow down our process as well and he visited the US for a 5 week stay prior to scheduling his medical and interview.
Ryan was not given any hassle at POE and make sure that your honest. He showed them the K1 (noa2) and how we were going through the process legally.
But your right there are no guarantees to come visit the US.

(it’s been a month or so since we went through NVC now so please ensure you visit UK forum for specifics).

Good Luck on your journey !

Congrats on your approval of petition 🎊🎉🎈!

December/ start of January for 2 weeks is doable. Since it will take at least another 60 days to arrive at your embassy you could be working on your documents before you leave so when you return you can get your medical out of the way and then put the finishing touches on your interview documents. It might be another 60 days after you return that you may have your visa in hand and ready to move to the US.
