"A flight attendant for Southwest Airlines is alleging in a lawsuit that two pilots streamed live video from inside an airplane bathroom to an iPad in the cockpit.

Renee Steinaker, of Maricopa County, Arizona, claims in her lawsuit against Southwest and the two pilots that she discovered a livestream from a plane's restroom in February 2017 during a flight from Pittsburgh to Phoenix."

Assuming it's true, how vile! Hidden cameras are something I was thinking about recently when a bunch of us were staying in an Airbnb for a wedding-- one of my friends got paranoid and started searching the place for a camera after she'd read an article about such things being set up in "holiday lettings" as she put it. Nothing turned up, thankfully. So gross.

Doesn't it stem from what the article said? They were live streaming to an iPad, thus the iPad must not have been set to airplane mode.

Maybe because the poster isn't one of the usual posters in here? I got the comment (and the joke :P).

I searched the  article, and didn't see that particular phrase, that's why I asked.

If it was a quip, so be it, though airplane mode really has no bearing on the case.

Yeah, but it's funny because they always tell you to put your device in airplane mode, but then they didn't put their own device in airplane mode. Ahhh never mind.

pilot jokes

"WHAT TIME IS IT?"

A self-important businessman was afraid that his flight would land too late for him to make his meeting.  So, he strode forward and banged on the cockpit door.  The copilot opened it.

"What time is it?" the man demanded.
"According to which airline?" the pilot asked.
"What difference does it make?  What time is it?" the man demanded, more insistently.
"By which airline?" asked the pilot.

"If you don't tell me what time it is, I'm going to come in there and wring your neck!" said the businessman.

"OK, OK!" said the pilot.  He studied his watch and did some calculations. "OK," he said.  "On Eastern, it's 13:30; on United, it's 1:30; on Braniff, it's Wednesday; and on Ozark, it's June!"

I get it.

What's ironic is that even if we all put our devices in airplane mode, the same signals they receive will be there anyway.

And all those devices operate at different frequencies than what planes use anyway.
