What type of proof do I need to establish a relationship with my husband? I have our marriage certificate, lease and a joint bank account. I worry because they're all from 2019.

Our relationship began in April 2017 and he moved in with me late that year, but we didn't add him to the lease. There were a couple untility bills in his name, but I cannot find the damn lease for that property! I moved away for university in September 2018 and he stayed at the house. Eventually he moved near me in 2019 and we now have our own flat.

Given our lack of documents, what else can we use?

Thank you for any advice 🙂

Photos (don’t go crazy, but provide photos of the two of you together spanning the years of your relationship ship, photos from your wedding day, photos of the two of you with other people to show that friends & family know about the two of you)

plane tickets of your trips to visit each other or passport stamps if you have them

proof of trips taken together

snippets of conversations or emails over the years

if he’s on your insurance show that

They want to know that this is a real relationship. Photos might not do much, but not sending them at all will hurt. Just send what you can to show that you have a real relationship and that this isn’t just for a green card. Good luck!

With a lease and joint account you have more than most do for the I-130.  It doesn't matter that they were started the day before you sent in the I-130, they exist.

Thank you for the information.

I'm the US citizen with indefinite leave to remain in the UK. I live here and we will be going through DCF in London.

We met in England and didn't need to travel to see one another. I have tons of photos of just us. I even have photos of him after major surgery. Our wedding (15/10/19) was just him, me and our 2 witnesses. We do have those photos.

Ummm...as for photos work other people, we have very little. We have friends but enjoy our own company.

This is going to be a pain trying to prove. Ugh?

This. The current lease and joint account is great. London shouldn't be overly complicated.

Nope,  A DCF is pretty easy to prove since you have legal status to be in the country.  Just gather up some pictures of married life and hopefully have some evidence of doing things and paying for things together or travel together.

Actually quite easy.  Show your status as UK resident, report your previous address together, show proof of current address together, proof of legal marriage, proof of joint account, and you have more than 90% of us had before you even attach the first photo.

DCF when you reside overseas together is way easier than filing from the US.

We were approved with just marriage certificate, joint saving account (SACCO), engagement and wedding photos, and life insurance listing her as beneficiary.
