October 2019 Filers I-130 IR5

One day after receiving the I-130 Approval Notice from USCIS via email, I received emails from NVC stating that they have already been in charge of my parents' cases and informed me of the two cases numbers that have been created for them!!! It is so fast! I previously thought it would take a couple of weeks for them to create case numbers.

I-130 got approved for both of my parents today! Priority date is 17 October, 2019 at Texas SC. So it is about 6 months since the date of applications being received.

Congrats! Still waiting for mine. I was transferred to Potomac and the wait period is longer in Potomac 😩

In a Facebook group for IR5 Filers, a person mentioned that their application was sent to Potomac in late August 2019 and they received the approval notice last week. I thought this could give you some idea of the processing timeline there. But again, it is often on the case-to-case basic so you may actually get the response sooner.

My updated timeline as of 04/25/2020 (Texas Service Center)

10/15/2019 application packages sent

10/17: application packages received by USCIS

10/23: received notice of USCIS Account Access

10/31: received NOA1, cases being processed by Texas Service Center

04/24/2020: I-130 Approval Notice received via email ( about six month wait since PD.) Waiting for NOA2 in the mail.

04/25/2020: received emails from NVC with case numbers for both parents included

All,

Anyone get approved recently?  I am seeing approvals in the January 2020 thread.

Apart from @HanhChi I don't think anyone else has mentioned getting approved. It's good to know they are still processing and approving cases though, despite the EO 🙌🏼🙂

Just checked the status of my application and it says "under review" but under documents it says an RFE was sent to me on April 22, 2020 (2 weeks ago).

I Called USCIS  yesterday 5/7/2020 and spoke with a Tier 2 rep, stating I haven't received any notice letter and I can't access the notice online.

She said the letter has  not been generated and at this time I have not been issued an RFE and "maybe" I will be issued one in the future. *confusing*

She advised I give it another 2 weeks and if there's no update to the status I should give them a call.

Anyone experience this before?

Oh, definitely! I am in another group who are now at the NVC stage, and there have been a number of cases deemed documetarily qualified over the past few weeks. So yes, they are still processing cases. The timeline is all over the place though. Some got approved pretty quickly after submitting docs, some haven’t despite longer wait.

Anyway, I just noticed that you got AOS from F-1 Visa through marriage. Me too! It has been a long road with all these immigration process. I became US citizen last June.

Anyone else at the NVC stage? Please keep us updated. I finally submitted all the documents on CEAC today and yet another wait begins. Not sure how Trump's EO of halting green cards for parents is gonna affect the process. Good luck to everyone!

Both applications for my parents were denied, as I have not provided sufficient documentation to proof relationship due to delayed registered birth certificate. 2 of the documents I uploaded for some reasons did not show up in my uploaded file section. I don't know how to move forward with this. I am asked to appeal the decision.

I'm so sorry...I'd definitely appeal if it's just a matter of them not getting documents that you do have readily available.

On the other hand, our case is supposedly out of processing time (last I checked) but since we're moving cross country next week, I kind of want to wait a little before raising an inquiry, in case they mistakenly send something to our current address. Idk...

Hello Azuka,

so sorry to hear that, when did you file and what center was your application sent to?
I filled for my Mum but I’ve been scared they won’t let her come here since Nigeria was one of the countries banned.

please advise.

If they are IR-5 visas, there will be a long wait.  All IR-5 visas have been suspended until 2021.  You can continue with the NVC process.
