Rule 1 . I rarely am serious.   I like say yes to the dress. Randy is so cool

❤️

I love Randy too. Now I'm going to have to watch a few episodes this morning after Alex falls back asleep (weekly Facetime with his daughter now). We were up until 3am watching the England vs. New Zealand rugby match, which I did not want to stay up to watch, but when you're living (temporarily) in a studio with someone you kind of can't ignore the television because it's only feet away from you. He wanted the All Blacks to win and I didn't tell him, but I was rooting for England, who eventually won. It really was quite a great match but I'm exhausted now.

And this is relevant to the topic because I was dressed nicely (I will not give details of my bedroom apparel so trust me that it was nice) and was behaving very well around a man (did not tell him that I wanted England to win).

Tell him who you want to win if it is the opposite of want he wants. My wife always tells me who she wants to win and it is always the opposite of who I want because she hates me but that makes it so much nicer when or if my team win. Now don't get me wrong as we love each other a lot.

The most expensive food is Wedding Cake.

True, but expense is avoided when danger is heeded beforehand.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I was triggered today, triggered I tell you. I went to a local gas station during lunch off base and a lady called me honey, sweetie, and handsome all within 5 minutes. Who can I call to report this?

I got you, sweetie. I've called the Feminist Police and they're looking into this very closely. Nothing for you to worry your handsome head about.

Now be a dear and make me a sandwich.

I think the problem is that for some men feel that because they are comfortable being called such things, that everyone else should be. Men and women are not the same, nor are their experiences the same. As a woman, particularly from the culture of an eastern state, and raised in the way I was - we'd perceive such behavior as rude, forward, and invasive. I believe I'd feel that same way as a man if I was raised the same way. Perhaps in the southern culture or indeed in some parts of male culture, it's perceived as being comforting and sweet. If a woman that was at least not very elderly started speaking that way to my own husband for instance, I might be inclined to think she was being too personal and flirty. If a woman or man did it to me, I'd perceive it as extremely obnoxious, unless I knew that person extremely well in a trusting and informal way.

If you are triggered, I'd suggest putting money in a 'Trigger Jar', it works exactly like a swear jar. :D

I'm from Connecticut. We are not people given towards warmth in regard to strangers. Moving to Los Angeles was in many ways more of a culture shock than moving to London was. I have learned to open up a little out here and can now "do" small talk with strangers when it seems appropriate, and I occasionally look people in the eye. Mostly, though, I'd prefer to be left alone. And if someone calls me sweetie or dear or hon I will be polite but secretly put them in the "for the love of Satan, no" category. I can't even.

My boyfriend (the non-fiancé, as I call him) is from Tennessee. He can't help himself -- he's open and friendly with everyone. He generally won't call strangers by terms of endearment, but in general he can come off as a bit flirty, even if he's not trying. He's just so nice to strangers (unless they are being impolite) that it's a piquant counterpoint to my own sullen "eff off, everyone" attitude towards the general public. :D

His dream is to get a Tesla pickup (when made available) and ride it around Adamsville, flying the South Korean flag emblazoned with "The South Shall Rise Again" to see how many ol' boys he confuses. He truly is the best.
