Hey guys. Just wondering about the financial aspect of the K1 visa. I am wondering what I will need to provide to prove my income since I did not work a lot the previous year and so my income on my tax returns were very low. However , I currently have a new job where I have been working for 7 months and my income meets the requirements based off my rate of pay. What would I provide if asked for my income since I haven’t filed my income tax for this year yet.

We submitted tax transcripts and letter from the employer stating the start date and annual salary.

If the K1 interview takes place after 01/01/2020 you should be good as you'll have tax docs by then. You don't have to submit anything when you file the petition, only the beneficiary needs to bring the documents and Affidavit of support to the interview. I had all needed but the CO only asked for the affidavit of support.

I submitted paystubs and a letter from my employer with professional letterhead and a signature. If your interview is after the next fiscal year starts but you haven't gotten your tax return back yet, you can always submit a copy of the form you filed in place of a return transcript. Just be sure to submit the W2s with this.

Good luck!

The affidavit of support asks for the 'current' tax transcripts and W2.

If you get an interview before April 15th 2020, the current taxes will be 2019.  If you get an interview after April 15th, 2020 the tax year will be 2020.

Pay stubs are proof of income, but every consulate asks for tax transcripts.  So you need to have them.

If you can't cover the poverty level, you'll need a co-sponsor.
