Hello

                       Hope every one is having a good night I just have a question based on my wife's EAD. It is already expired I know I should have sent in the renewal 90 days  before it expired but I did not since I saw we had our interview for green card (total error on my part ). Also at the interview the officer told me not to submit the renewal as we will be getting the green card very soon she stated which that did not happen. (4 months since interview and nothing yet ) So my question is if I send in the renewal now will it still be extended even though I'm submitting it after expiration? Another question will that be valid to go into a new valid job or the  extension only works for current job ?

Thanks in advance for any reply's

Yes

Any job. EAD is an u restricted work permit.

Thanks a lot was just curious :) Happy to hear that will give my wife the info . Main reason why I asked also is because my moms husband got the extension letter and went to get a job at target and they turned him away because they said they don't accept the extension letter which I found very weird they wanted the physical card.

Starting Jan. 17, 2017, USCIS is automatically extending certain expiring EADs for up to 180 days for applicants who:

That’s the automatic extension. I took the OP’s question as “Will they give me another EAD?”. OP, if you’re talking about the automatic extension then see above, it’s a no for automatic extension

He didn't say that, he asked will it be extended.  If he applies for a new one then its 6 to 7 months away

YMMV

Gotcha. I took as asking about the extension (OP's words).

@OP

To clarify, you are perfectly fine to file for a renewal. There is no fee. But the existing EAD is no longer valid and will remain so. You will get a new EAD when the I-131 I-765 is approved (or just a green card if the I-485 is approved first). Hope that clears it up.

Did your mom's husband submit the renewal before the EAD expired? "Properly filed for a renewal EAD before their current EAD expired" And is his EAD category on the list? https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/automatic-employment-authorization-document-ead-extension
