Stephanie,

Yes, they do approve AOS without interview for certain cases. You are one of the lucky ones! Congratulations!! Your Welcome to the USA letter and green card should come in the mail soon.

As to your question about being done ... you are on an immigration break. Since you've been married for less than 2 years, you will get a conditional green card with a 2-year validity period. You will need to file for removal of conditions 90 days before your conditional green card expires. When that is approved, you will get a 10-year green card.

Do I get my green card in the mail now? Am I done?

So does the applicant/petitioner do anything different to be approved without requiring an interview, or is it purely luck? I.e. if they are of a certain age, nationality and perhaps income category?

Stephan - did you have to do anything out of the ordinary, for instance, send in evidence of your relationship with your original AOS package?

I'm just hoping that an approval without interview isn't as arbitrary as it seems?

Congratulations, though!

Thanks all, it didnt really register with me yet (it was early morning when I opened my mail inbox :) ) but Im glad I got there.

@ Holy Moly, : No, I didn't do anything extraordinary. We filed for EAD and AOS at the same time, send in our 14 inch package ;) and all they did was asking us for some tax forms to be resent. When we did that about two weeks ago, this is the result. No extra waiting, no interview, AOS approved. Eagerly awaiting my green card now! I am happy!!!
