I think it depends on the embassy. Some have a bigger backlog than others... You can post this in the country-specific subforum on VisaJourney and may get a better answer

Our case was expedited since it took USCIS four months to send the petition to NVC.

Hope all is going smooth with your process. I was wondering at which stage you have requested expedite from NVC, before or after submitting documents?  As you might remember, we were at the same boat, now waiting for the fees to be cleared.

“Receipt Received” and My “Recent Inquiry“ 9/1/20 — acknowledged the change of address and informed me the card is in production and will be sent in 30 days.
Status changed to “Card is being Produced” : 9/4/20

”Card was Mailed to Me” : 9/11/20

Received PRC on 9/16/20 in new address

We actually just got the interview notice today, and the interview is 3 weeks away.

 

When I called NVC and they finally told me they received our case, I told the (very kind and understanding) rep that we had such a difficult time, he said he'd see if anything could be done to move things along quicker for us. Never heard back from them and figured the NVC stage would take 5-8 weeks. It ended up taking 2 days and we got an interview notice pretty quickly for one of the earlier slots. So either a huge coincidence, or he actually did do something...

Wow! That’s really good news, after how long you got interview notice NVC DQ docs ? Is IL came hard copy or email copy ?

We got the notice about 2 weeks after the DQ notice. Interview is less than 3 weeks out - we thought we'd have a little more time but are now scrambling to get things ready....

That's excellent news, congratulations!

Yes, so far so good, after all that stress I am still knocking on wood. CEAC just cleared bills and now we are ready to file. I still have time to decide whether I should  put a request or not, I suppose.

You can always call NVC and see what they suggest. Normally I would say it couldn't hurt to as for an expedite, but with USCIS/NVC/DOS you really never know .....

Yeah, my husband bought tickets to come see me in two months, i am not sure if I want to have the stress of an interview in the middle of his visit, plus, that, too. Assuming they accepted my request, of course. Good idea, will call tomorrow, I almost missed that music on hold.. NOT. :)
