Double check financial documents list

I'm about to finish off the financial documents portion of NVC submission. I am sponsoring one immigrant (my stepdaughter) and using my salary alone (no joint sponsors). Is the following enough?

1. I-864 EZ

2. 2018 Federal Tax Return

3. 2018 W2

4. Passport bio page scan ( <= not 100% sure if needed since it's also a civil document an no cosponsor)

5. Last two pay stubs ( <= not 100% sure if needed at all since I make above the required amount)

I think I'm covered. I find the state.gov website a pain to use and find the exact information I need.

Second Question: If I submit too much (for example, paystubs when not needed) can NVC complain and ask me to redo things? I was told that to oversubmit (eg when in doubt, submit) for the I130 but I'm not sure that still holds true at the NVC stage. Thanks a lot!

1) Yes

2) This needs to be a full tax return copy. You can either use a tax transcript or a copy of all forms and schedules (1040, 1099s, W-2s, etc.).

3) Not needed, unless part of the tax return copy above. For instance, I would not suggest sending a tax transcript AND a W-2, as it has led to a checklist for some.

4) Not needed for the primary sponsor as citizenship/status was established via the petition.

5) Pay stubs and/or an employment letter would be evidence of your current income. Without this, how would they know how much you currently earn (other than saying so on the I-864)?

Alright, thanks! I think the following should do it:

1. I 864 EZ

2. 2018 Tax Transcript

3. Latest few pay stubs

Thanks!

Update for those that find this thread in the future:

I ended up sending only the 2018 tax transcript, and got a message saying that the 2018 W2 needs to be brought along to the interview 😡 I'm guessing this is because I filed jointly with my wife in 2018... Anyways, we're done for now and waiting on the interview.

I submitted oct 4th don’t get reply yet!

The website says they are working on cases received SEPT 12, so you should hear something in the next two-three weeks I would guess....

Our case was expedited since it took USCIS four months to send the petition to NVC.

Thank you so much, I’ve one question for you. I submitted 2018 tax return, wages transcript, all 1099 and w2 and now I’m working  at company and get paid 1099 Misc from this year so I sent CEO letter with one cheque copy from company account. Is it good you think ?

Sounds okay to me, now you can only sit and wait and hope they accept!

No problem. And remember, even if you messed something up, there's a chance they'll tell you to resolve it at the interview, rather than having to re-submit and wait again.

Thanks God they accept all doc and place for interview! Anyone knows how long it’ll take for interview time for CR2 visa ?
