Received RFIE on birth certificate

I've moved from Pakistan to US on K1 fiance visa and have recently filed for Adjustment of Status through form I-485. I've received request for initial evidence to submit a copy of birth certificate although I did attach a copy of birth certificate issued by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (Pakistan) at the time of filing I-485. The birth certificate is signed by Incharge of Birth & Death Section of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, has names of both my parents and also includes my name and date of birth.

RFIE query states below :

  • Submit a copy of the birth certificate or other primary birth record issued by the appropriate civil authority for the applicant. USCIS will only accept which lists atleast one parent. If the birth certificate or other primary birth record is not available, you must submit acceptable secondary evidence AND a letter from the government or other authority".

Can anyone please advise on why wasn't my birth certificate accepted ? What should I include in response to RFIE ?

Me mudé de Pakistán a EE. UU.

Hi, I'm in the same situation. When I sent my application also sent my bith certificate  signed by authority and it had names of both my parents and also includes my name and date of birth. So, finally what did you do?

Did you send a copy of both the original (non-English) version and a copy of translation?  Either way, lot of people have received RFEs for birth certificate like this.  I'd send it again - just make sure you have copies of both non-English and the English translation, that it has one of your parents' name and has a visible seal/stamp.

Just send it again with the non-English and English translation.

My husband had the same RFIE, but he is from England so it made even less sense. Once we sent a second copy, it was accepted.
