Malaysia: Passport with K1 Visa Collection - How long do they release it?

Hello,

 

I've just had my interview at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last October 17, i passed and they took my passport. I explained my situation that i am just visiting Kuala Lumpur to have my medical and interview proceedings as i flew from Brunei Darussalam. Unfortunately, US Embassy in Brunei Darussalam does not adjudicate immigrant visa including k visas so that explains my papers were forwarded in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The officer who conducted my interview told me she will try to get everything done this week (of my interview) or the latest early next week (this week) Monday.

 

Now, i am worried because i am only allowed to reach them through email which i have and they do not entertain phone calls nor walk ins for any inquiries. I would like to consult for those who have been in my kind of situation, how long will they usually release my passport with us visa.

No one can say with any certainty. You can follow the progress of your visa issuance on ceac.state.gov and enter your DS-160 confirmation number for faster searches. These are the steps you will see before the visa is issued. Best of luck

 

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

 

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".
