Hello everybody,

My husband and I are in the middle of the IR-1 process at the moment. Currently, the NVC is processing our documents and we expect (hope!) these to be reviewed/approved in about 3 weeks from now.

We are trying to get a rough timeline going, and figure out basically if we'll be able to spend Christmas together this year.

Does anyone who has had an IR-1 interview at the Stockholm (Sweden) embassy have any idea how long it takes from when they receive your package to when you are actually seen for an interview?

They say it can take up to 6 months but I'm hoping it's not as long!

Many thanks in advance for any information anybody can provide.

Hej Ailsa!

Could you please share how long it took you to get the appointment? Not finding a ton of information about the embassy in Stockholm, so would be amazing to hear.

Thanks!

Hi Philuppus!

I had my appointment at the embassy in Stockholm on 26th January 2020! So it only took a few months from the point when I posted that message to actually having my appointment.
The appointment itself was quick and easy and I received my passport back within about 10 days! They allowed me to go and collect it from the embassy instead of mailing it to me, so it was a little faster.

Good luck with everything!

Wow that's great! Hopefully it hasn't gotten too delayed with covid... lol, who am I kidding, it definitely has 😂  – but great to have a baseline from before that. Thank you!

Hi to anyone reading this! Wanted to post an update to anyone looking for an answer on this for Stockholm – I submitted documents in June 2022 and got an appointment a little over 2 months later in August. Might've been lucky, but it was super fast.
