Did they Change the Address or Not?

Hi. Here's my story. We sent AOS application on May 14 and Chicago Lockbox received it on May 15. I didn't received NOA for my receipt number because the address I put on the application was my physical address and not mailing address ( we do not receive mail at our physical address), we receive our mail at our PO box. On May 29, we called the USCIS for the change of address and they told me to change it online. So I did. On June 5, I received a notice from USCIS, dated May 29, 2007, that they had updated my new mailing address to the PO box address on my application. Now, I have received an e-mail from CRIS stating this:

On June 6, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable. This can have serious effects on the processing of this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent.

I called the 1-800 number and they said the computers were down and for me to call back on Monday.

I can't understand what's going on. They sent me a letter that they already updated my address. And now they told me to update my address again...

Anyone who encounter the same problem. Please share. Tks.

Alona

Is your AOS in another Service Center/local office other than MO???

I updated my address online end of April, received my letters confirming the address change (but my case was already in CSC). I received my EAD card at my new address no problems, but when the "approved" letter for my GC came, it was sent to my old address. Also my green card was forwarded to my old address. The only difference I can see is that my AOS was sent to CSC and my EAD was still in MO.

When I called the 1-800 Unhelpful line inbetween the time that I got my "approved" letter and GC, they told me that if I did my change of address online then they had it in thier computers and the GC would be sent to the right address. If I ddin't receive the card in 30 days to call back. VERY frustrating, and very unhelpful thank you very much!!

USPS forwarded the GC to us no problems (plain envelope a "do not forward" message was not written on it).

So.. not sure if that helps, but that's my experience.

AOS:

2007-02-22: Sent AOS /EAD

2007-03-06 : NOA1 AOS /EAD

2007-03-28: Transferred to CSC

2007-05-17: EAD Card Production Ordered

2007-05-21: I485 Approved

2007-05-24: EAD Card Received

2007-06-01: Green Card Received!!

Removal of Conditions:

2009-02-27: Sent I-751

2009-03-07: NOA I-751

2009-03-31: Biometrics Appt. Hartford

2009-07-21: Touched (first time since biometrics) Perhaps address change?

2009-07-28: Approved at VSC

2009-08-25: Received card in the mail

Naturalization

2012-08-20: Submitted N-400

2013-01-18: Became Citizen
